Hi Ladies looking for a little advice I'm now on weekly taxol with avastin every 3 weeks, first cycle of taxol is complete, not finding it too hard, a little shortness of breath, my major concern is I have facial flushing with an angry rash, my team have given me steroids to take for two days after infusion which seemed to help until this morning, anyone had this problem if so would greatly appreciate your advice

Hi! I had a red rash over my cheeks and around eyes after my first taxol dose.My face felt quite flushed with it.I spoke to my hospital who said to take an antihistamine which helped and it went away.I actually had it i think after 2nd taxol as well but nothing since.I know taxol can cause skin sensitivities. Also keep well moisturised,I use aveeno. If it continues then I would get advice from your hospital.

I had 3-weekly carco/taxol but started with very pink/angry cheeks when Avastin was added. I did a cool, moisturising face mask when it happened followed by regular moisturising. The redness went down after a few days. Good luck.

Hi,

During carbo/taxol treatment I used to get this post infusion for about 3 days , I always thought it might be the steroid taken during this time as it used to go after stopping ?? Just a thought ?

Morning,

I’m on weekly taxol and one of the side effects is redness of the cheeks, it normally effects 3 in 10 people

Hopefully as your treatment progresses it will ease.

Good luck.

Thank you supergran, it looks more like acne this week 🙄 very angry with spots my next taxol/avastin due on Monday so I'm hopeful the antibiotics and cream will kick in, if not I've spoken with my team they have said if no change by Monday I will see onc on Tuesday morning, praying it won't stop chemo as I'm platinum resistant now... Oh never a dull moment

Hope all is going well with you

Ever since my first chemo in 2015 I get a horrible, angry rash on my neck if I put sun block on it. It takes about two weeks to go away. It’s a type of heat rash. The pores are blocked. But that has probably nothing to do with your rash.

I hope it’s clears soon.
