Thank you for dental advice.

Thank you for your help to the seven ladies who gave me dental advice. I have clove oil now and I will battle for an appointment when the time comes. Pauline, your fall was shocking and I am so glad your teeth were restored. There are so many things that can go wrong with teeth and very vulnerable on chemo. For some reason my intense dental pain died down, although the tooth is decaying. It seemed like a gift as I am getting through my third cycle of carbo caelyx. If it comes back I am better prepared.

The other thing that helps with toothache or general mouth pain is Ambesol in liquid form - it contains lidocaine as well, which numbs the area, if you can find any at the moment. There is a gel form in a tube, but I think that's meant for teething babies, so its a weaker formulation.

This dentistry problem is worrying - I cannot see how a dentist can safely carry out drilling and the like because of water spray, even if they wear PPE. Many of us develop dental problems, and an abcess on or under a tooth is no joke... Glad to hear your problem has settled down a bit at least.
