Fenbendazole and Caelyx

Hi,

Start new chemo Friday. Been taking Fenbendazole whilst off treatment. Has anyone continued with it while on treatment.

Hi I don't use fenbendazole but I did take mebendazole all through my treatment with caelyx - apart from a few days after each infusion when I felt too nauseous. I checked (with COC clinic) and there are no problems with those two drugs. I certainly haven't heard of any issues with fenben and chemo treatments together.

I had a good response to carbo caelyx but who knows what is the magic formula! All the best, x

I would also like to take mebendazole this time, as I have read it can make you more responsive to chemo. Can you tell me please what dose you took - Thank you

500mg a day. I used to do 1 month on 1 off, then 3 months on 1 off, now just been advised to take continuously

Start 4th line chemo Friday. Not feeling brilliant to start with so very apprehensive.

I'm on carboplatin and was told not to take anything at all with it, though I didn't say what I might be considering taking. I had been doing the Fenben (3 days on, 4 off), Vitamin E and CBD oil beforehand, but was nervous about taking it once I started chemo, as well as having to start Aciclovir to prevent a herpes outbreak. After my second infusion, and taking the aciclovir, I waited a week and then took the combination one day only - I then had the most dreadful indigestion for about 36 hours. I've no idea if it was taking that which caused it, it may have been unrelated or caused by my massive incisional hernia,but I've not taken it since, just in case. I'm trying to steel myself to take it again to see if the same thing happens, but I've got another infusion this Thursday, not sure whether to risk it or not.... though it sounds like other people do take it with chemo?

Is there anyone else on aciclovir as well as chemo who is taking fenben or mebendazole at the same time?
