Thank you Eriksendi, not feeling great, very, up and down. Take care yourself. Anne XXX
If I was in pain, I would try it. I’d check with my oncologist just to make sure it didnt interfere with any treatment I was having. I have read reviews where people have said it helps x x
Exactly, if it has no negative effects on the taxol I am taking then don't see any reason why not. Will keep you informed. Anne XXX
I am no longer in treatments.i found out about cbd afterwards.i use high dose thc with lower amount of cbd.my oncologist ordered my thc card fo r me.you dont need a license to buy just cbd.but try to buy organic if possible maybe 300-500 % pharmacist said to put it under my tongue it will kick in faster.it helps with pain, anxiaty, inflamation and sleep.the dispensary has a mixture of both together.it helps me more with my pain.Let me know how it works for you.good luck
Hello Anne . I don’t have the answer but I’ll keep following this as reading about the effect of cannabis oil I have bought some marshmallows with it in them !
They are not for me at this stage but for a dear friend with high pain levels following radio therapy for throat cancer .
All best for you
Denise xx
Hello Denise, thank you for your reply, I suppose I am hoping for miracles because just to be a little more pain free would be my dream at the moment. Take care my dear. Anne XXX
Hello again Anne , for severe pain I’m sure you know the medicos will prescribe Fentanyl and topped up with oromorph .. a dear friend of mine is managing his pain this way and the downside is being zonked out partly some of the time ... you know the patches?? Thinking of you today and hoping you have some relief as you’re going through a tough time ... I’m told by many that the cannabis oil is very effective though.
Take care and all best wishes . Big hug

Hi, I am just about to start CBD capsules, for general well being. I don't know if the GP would prescribe it. I am reading about Rick Simpson which is fascinating.
Well keep me informed my dear, I have brought some oil (very expensive which is not a problem if it somehow works). Take care Anne XXX
Dear Anne. It worked for me. I used it on bad days whilst on chemo. It made me feel calmer and dealt well with the pain. Follow the instructions carefully as you only take a small amount. I hope it works for you. Xx
I’ve took it for a while now. I use 25% oil and i believe it helps with anxiety. I don’t know about pain but I found chemo and Avastin relatively easy with no real side effects, who knows if it was that or I was just lucky. On chemo last year I think I had couple icky days few days after chemo then mostly fine. Bits of neuropathy which went away after I finished chemo. I did my last treatment of Avastin this week but I will continue to take it. I buy from Synerva oils and it’s £120 bottle. I’ve just bought 2 as it’s 20% off till tomorrow I think. I think you should try it and see what happens. As much as you may not feel like it exercise works too, even if it’s a little walk around your house, keep doing it as it pushes blood around your system and lots of water xx good luck
Hi Shorty ,So sorry you are still not so good. I have no personal experience if CBD oil,but a friend's sister is using it. She is in her 80's, not sure where she bought it from, but when she went to see her Oncologist in London, he told her that it had stemmed the tumours and shrunk them. He also said that they would prescribe it for her. This is fairly recent in the last month or so. Be careful though and do try to buy organic if you decide to go down this route.xxx
Hello Shorty864
Thank you for your post. I'm sorry to hear that you're in pain and hope that your team are helping you to manage it.
In terms of CBD oil, there can sometimes be some misunderstanding about its use. Anyone interested in this topic can read the piece about medicinal cannabis in the Spring 2019 issue of our Magazine, which is available at:
ovacome.org.uk/Handlers/Dow...
on pages 6 and 7.
As we said in the article, cannabis oil and CBD oil are different things, and it's important to understand what the terms mean.
CBD oil cannot contain more than 0.2% THC (the chemical in cannabis that gets you high) and is legal in the UK provided that the THC can't be easily separated and no claims are made about its medical benefits. It's sold in health food shops and by other retailers as a food supplement, and some people diagnosed with cancer find that it helps them to manage symptoms and side effects of treatment.
As with any other complementary therapy, it's important to speak to your team if you're thinking of trying CBD oil, as it can interact with other treatments and have its own side effects. It's a sedative, so you shouldn't drive or operate dangerous machinery when you're taking it.
Cannabis oil containing both CBD and THC is illegal in the UK. It's therefore important to make sure that, if you decide to try CBD oil, you get it from a reputable retailer selling legal products.
I recognise that you are asking about using CBD oil to help to manage pain rather than as a treatment for cancer, but we thought it might also help to clarify more generally that cannabis isn't a proven anti-cancer drug. Cancer Research UK say that, "right now there isn’t enough reliable evidence to prove that any form of cannabis can effectively treat cancer in patients." (scienceblog.cancerresearchu...
Research is being done to find out more about how cannabis and products derived from it could potentially be used with cancer, and we'll update our information if there are any significant advances.
