Hi ladies

Just had phone consultation with Oncologist with scan results after 3 months watch and wait.

Cancer increased in peritoneum and enlarged lymph nodes, and ascites.

Arranging ultra sound re ascites and possible draining.

No more carboplatin as now deemed carbo resistant so starting caelyx.

Had expected it but still disappointed, still keep hoping it's going to disappear!

Hope everyone keeping as well as possible.

Hi Janet. Recently been there myself. Mentioned bloating to my consultant and nurse since January and it was only following a scan in March it was also discovered there was some spread. I don’t know where and I don’t want to. Now on Carbo Caelyx. I’ve had ascites drained twice now. You will feel so much better. I had seven litres the first time and four the second. Onwards and upwards Janet. Take encouragement from others on here who have treatment and move on. Xx

Many thanks for reply. So uncomfortable at the moment.

How are you coping with caelyx?

Only 5 months since finished carbo for third recurrence.

Best of luck with everything.

Hi Janet. It is amazing how much carrying fluid around with you impacts on the simplest of things. I literally looked nine months pregnant before the first drain. Couldn’t eat, couldn’t breath properly and struggled to walk. I must admit it took me a couple of days to feel the benefit of getting rid of it all. You will feel so much better. Mm not sure about the Caelyx. Third one at the end of this month.

Take care of yourself. Let me know how you get on. X

Karen you must of been so so uncomfortable! Thats to long to let it go.my dr said when it gets to uncomfortable to call for draining. I couldnt go more than 10 days@3liters.i felt so much better.removing to much body fluod at one time could be dangerous,i was told.

Thank you.

Hi Janet,

I’m sorry that you got that news. I haven’t been on Caelyx yet so I can’t offer any advice about that. I know exactly what you mean about hoping it’ll disappear. It’s what all of us secretly hope for. I’m sure you’re angry and upset. Hopefully this new treatment will get you back into remission soon.

Be kind to yourself. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Hi Anne

Have you started your fenbrezole yet xx

in reply tojools53

Hi

Started fenbendazole about 4 weeks ago.

No noticeable side effects but start chemo again Friday so will probably have to stop.

Best wishes

Not going to stay on it as well as chemo? Xx

Hi

Not sure, but probably not. Will carry on until chemo but see how things are after that.
