I have had a lump ovary area for a while now its hard and growing. It gives me a dull pain especially more after touching it. I also have pain in back the same side also (right). I had a hysterectomy at 40 . i havent been to the doctor yet and want to know whether to go. Bit worried about it

Hello... do I take it that you haven’t had a diagnosis of ovarian cancer but you are worried that this lump could be cancer?

I am sorry to say it but once you are in your 50s you should get every odd lump or pain checked out. Go next week, it could be nothing but it could also be something and although a hysterectomy lowers your risk it doesn’t lower it to zero.

Much better to be safe than sorry.

Best of luck xx

Please go to the doctor . If it’s nothing your mind will be set at rest, if it turned out to be something then the sooner it gets sorted the better , and once you’ve seen a doctor you will feel relief immediately. This is my advice to you from someone who put off going for a year with indigestion symptoms and HOW I have regretted that procrastination!! Phone today !!

I would say you and I are similar in that the don’t like to be a ‘bother’ can make us make the wrong decision. Or maybe a bit scared that something is wrong and put your head in the sand because you don’t want to hear it ? . To be perfectly honest with you by the time I went it was too late to be cured, but I’m doing well on treatment and live each day as it comes. Mostly !! The Coronavirus has of course stopped us all in our tracks . You know your lump could just be a node that has maybe reacted to a bladder infection and perfectly harmless?? But you can’t know that until you get checked. They are saying people putting off going to their doctors with lumps and bumps at present and they shouldn’t so keep pursuing. On a lighter note my daughter always says I’m great at telling other people what they should do , and then failing to do it myself . 😂 . Take care

Yes, please ring now! Get it checked, and, if it's nothing you will feel so relieved: if it is something you can start sorting it.

Fingers crossed that everything is okay for you.

Hopefully it’s nothing but the reason IC is so bad is it doesn’t get caught until it’s very advanced in many cases. You need a transvaginal ultrasound so don’t let them put you off. Please do get it checked out. You’ll be so relieved if it’s nothing. By the way I had a hysterectomy about 38 years before I was diagnosed.

Yes you need to go it might not be anything serious but is it's something that needs to be removed you shouldn't wait. Liz
