metastatic cancer in the omentum and lungs

Hello Ladies,I hope that you are all keeping as well as can be expected especially with this corona virus.

I had womb and fallopian tube cancer in 2015. Treatment for this was a hysterectomy,chemo/brachytherapy. The treatment is the same as ovarian cancer, hence my post.

This morning I had the devastating news that I now have cancer in the lungs & omentum. There will be an MDT meeting next Wednesday to decide a course of action. I have had blood tests today and there is a biopsy planned prior to MDT meeting.

So have any ladies on here had omentum cancer,as a secondary cancer and if so what treatment did you have. I would be so grateful if anyone has any advice.

Thank you, Caleda xx

Stay safe everyone.

Hi Caleda sorry to hear your news, my second recurrence was 'on' my omentum and I had carbo/gem chemo at the time. I hope they manage to get you back into remission. Stay safe. Kathy xx

Hi Kathy, Thank you so much for your reply because at least you have given me some hope,as I felt this morning that I had been written off. I have read many of your posts over time and know you have had quite long remissions and long may it continue. How did you get on with carbo/gem if you don't mind me asking.

Best Wishes,

Caleda.xx

HI-

I HAD SURGERY TO REMOVE PART OF OMENTUM WHICH WAS AFFECTED. THENCARBO/TAXOL. I HAD RECURRENCE AND WAS TREATED WITH CARBO/GEM AND AM NOW ON OLAPARIB. CARBO/ GEM WAS EASIER THAN CARBO/TAXOL FOR ME. I HOPE THINGS GO WELL FOR YOU.

BE WELL

Sorry to hear your news. I was diagnosed in 2017 with ovarian. it had already spread to the Omentum. I had surgery/chemo, Taxol/Carbo, for 12 wks, then 2wks later more surgery and chemo, Taxol/Carbo for 12 wks. I went two yrs until my first recurrence. In October my scan showed activity in several small lesions in the Omentum and a tiny spot on my liver. I was given Carbo/Gemzar. I just finished on March 10. Today I start Lynparza. Lynparza is a maintenance drug that will prevent the cancer cells from growing (to put it simply). I am getting a scan on Tuesday but the scan I had in February shows everything shrunk to half size so we are optimistic.

I know this is different than your story but I thought the treatment of the Omentum would be similar. Let me know if you have any questions. I will be happy to answer as best I can.

Good luck to you and let us know how things are going.

I support you in spirit. God bless you.

Thank you so much for your reply Annette, this is really useful.

I had taxol /carbo first time around as the treatment they give for womb cancer is the same as ovarian.

I really hope that the Lynparza works for you, & I will be thinking of you.

Of course I will let you know what the outcome is from the MDT meeting & what the plan will be.

God Bless you as well & stay safe from this Corona Virus.

Caleda xx

Hi,

I was recently diagnosed with a very rare cancer, uterine carcinosarcoma. I had surgery and am now considering adjuvent treatment. My research indicates that conventional chemo = radiation treatments don't work well for this cancer. It recurs in the majority of patients. I am learning about Jane McLelland's approach, which I assume you already know of. I'd love to communicate privately with you, but I don't know how. I'm new to this group.

Not what you're looking for?
