Abraxane Carbo dizziness/heart flutters

Anyone have these side effects from this combo? I passed out once from my treatment before last thinking it was due to not eating. This time I e gotten dizzy a few times despite eating and I have what feels like heart flutters. The Dr is bringing me in for fluids this afternoon but I’m thinking I’ll be done with chemo. This was my 5th out of 6 and I feel like I can’t take anymore.

Hmmm you should definitely report it as a side effect. I had dizzy spells and palpitations but I was very low in iron xx

Thanks At the Dr now they are going to give me fluids they said. Hoping they do bloodwork first

Dear Stray Cat,

Try to be patient. Chemo effects each of us different.

You may be ultra sensitive to one or more of your drugs and perhaps the dosage of one or both needs to be lowered.

Talk to your doctor about this.

And let him get you stabilised.

Sometimes it helps to be hospitalised for a while just to receive intravenous fluids and minerals you might be low on.

Let them admit you.

And see how you go from there.

Best wishes,

Laura

Hi. It could be low hemoglobin-it gave me palpitations and faintness. In fact I often feel like I’m going to faint when I stand suddenly lately. Hopefully the hydration will help.

When I read up on palpitations--which I get now and then--on Dr. Google it does say they are usually (percentage wise) not harmful as in life threatening. The dizziness is another story and combined will hopefully give them a clue as to what this is. Just wanted to say the palpitations got me worried when swimming (which I try to do daily) and oncologist gave me propranolol (low dose--10mg) to take before my swim. and the palpitations stopped. I am on Taxol and Avastin and he told me he suspects its the Taxol. Wishing you luck getting to the bottom of yours! oxoxo Judy

HI-

HYDRATION DOES HELP. ALSO, HAVE YOU GONE TO A CARDIOLOGIST? MIGHT NOT BE A BAD IDEA...

BEST OF LUCK, LEE

Thanks for your reply. My oncologist said next step would be a cardiologist but they’ve already given me an EKG and Echocardiogram and all good. However when I went to get more fluids the other day I had really low blood pressure which dropped even more after the fluids but still ok to go home. My frustration is that my onc said oh it’s probably not from the chemo but I read that it can be!

Hi. I really have never suffered from headaches or dizziness but sometime last year they started. Eventually I found that drinking water stopped them from coming. I now drink a lot more water than I used to and it keeps them at bay. Good luck. Pauline.
