I have very recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer 4a. The plan is 3 or 4 rounds of Taxol/Carbo and then an op followed by a further 3 rounds.
Initially my CA125 was 1320 and yesterday at my second chemo I was advisedy CA125 was 680 from a blood test 2 days earlier. I feel like this is a really positive change but I am not sure? I was wondering what others' experience has been? I have a tele appointment with my consultant in 2.5 weeks time just before next chemo so can talk to her about it then. Many thanks I have found this site such a help and support xx

God yes so positive so do take heart. I had a recurrence after 10 years in December 2020 and mine is stage 4 too. My CA125 was 3764 but, after 4 carbotaxil treatments and one carboplatin it's down to 50 something. I am now on a PARP inhibitor. Stay wellxx
Your doing absolutely great, second chemo and huge drop worked same for me mine was in the thousands it presently 10 we also had the same combo of chemo. Hard at times but worth it, and hopefully lm doing well, had scan on Weds bloods and first face to face in about 20 months in just less than 2 wks so l have everything crossed yet again. Good luck with the rest of your chemo and please god it does the job for you also. Sending love & hugs to everyone SheilaFxxx
I was diagnosed with stage 3c OC. From my experience I had surgery first and then carbo/taxol and ended up with CA125 of 9 (normal range) down from 130. CA125 is not a particularly good marker for me but looking at your numbers I would say that it's an excellent response after just one treatment. May the downward trend continue. 🤗 Jackie
