Yesterday I went for an appointment with my oncologist , I wasn't expecting good news , how wrong I was , my scan was clear ,bloods normal , no evidence of disease , blood test followed by oncoligist appointment in three months ,of course I know it could raise its ugly head at any time ,but for now I'm going to concentrate on building up my strength and enjoying life . You amazing ladies have helped me so much over the last year ,I can't thank you enough , you have all helped me carry on when I've been so ill from chemo I've wanted to give up.,I've learnt so much from all of you, , not just about the physical side but how to cope with the emotions .I know some of you won't have been as lucky as me , I send you all love and good wishes for the future. Thank you ladies , wishing you all the best Christmas you can have .

That is the best news!🥂🥳 I’m so happy for you Cheryl 😆 It gives us all hope and the strength to carry on when we are experiencing the horrible side effects of Chemotherapy.
I saw my Chemo doctor last week and he said my CA125 (post surgery n two chemo sessions) is now 11 😀 previously it was 157 so going in the right direction 👍 xx

yes I had a wonderful Christmas thank you, in spite of having carbo/caelyx on Monday 23rd. No dreadful reactions yet (except the usual toilet issues) even managed a drink or 3 and so much food and chocolate I hardly dare think about it. I've already put on a stone in the last 2 months making packing for our New Year Holiday in Center Parcs, Nottinghamshire very difficult-nothing fits. I don't quite understand this weight gain as I still have 3 large tumours lurking inside my tummy. The oncologist seems to think it's good to consume loads of calories so can't disagree with that can I! I'm going on a little now so I'd better get on with packing and pampering. A very happy New Year to you and any other of our HealthUnlocked Friends who may see this reply.
I have gained about two stone aaaaggg , been eating healthy stuff ,but crap in between , really will have to get back on track ,but maybe not yet 😀 Have a really wonderful holiday ,I wish you all the best in the new year . xx
Such wonderful news! I went back and glanced over all your previous posts and found it so comforting to read about your journey. The fears, worries, side-effects, feeling like you're not sure you can keep going, another chemo, bald again, unrelenting fatigue, knowing that Dr. appointments too often are simply another name for bad news. Thank you for reminding me it's all part of it, including NED, and helping me to find comfort in this strange normal! LIFE!

Despite being surrounded by a wonderful husband , grown up children ,grandchildren and great grandchildren I have never felt so alone, a lot of what I've felt I've kept to myself to protect my family ,you write beautifully ,keep sharing . What fantastic news! So glad for you. I had similar news just before Christmas too (and a mild telling off for trying to follow the How to Starve Cancer protocol, but he had to agree that I should continue as my ca125 had not been lower!)
Fantastic Alex , happy for you ,I've read the book ,but haven't attempted to follow it , found it a bit overwhelming in places ,not really sure where to start, but feel I should be doing something ,any tips welcome .xx
I get overwhelmed by it too but there’s a good Facebook group which Jane McLelland runs called off label drugs. I’m on Metformin, low dose aspirin, simvastatin, letrozole, berberine (100mg) fenbendazole, turmeric, 1 cups of green tea and two of earl grey and a tsp of powdered ginger. I’m not getting the doxycycline (yet) but if my cancer becomes active again will have to contact the COC for them to prescribe it or pretend I’ve got malaria and buy it over the counter!
There’s another good Facebook group for alternative ways to treat OC which is run by Jane Waygood. She is also extremely helpful.

Thank you Alex , I'm going to look at both fb sites , mentioned aspirin to my oncologist , he is trialing it for bowel cancer ,but wasn't helpful to me ,so I guess I'm on my own now , going to get everything I can , then perhaps see my GP , thanks for your help .xx
Yes my onc said aspirin are being trialled for other cancers here in swindon so was happy for me to take it as it seem some drugs are agnostic and don’t care which cancer you have, they cross over. My GP was always open to new approaches and natural remedies. She will prescribe if I can convince my onc but they can only do what is allowed by the NHS. They’ve justified some drugs on the strength of my BMI and slightly elevated cholesterol.
I buy my own aspirin over the counter but don’t have it prescribed.
You can get it from Boots it’s called low dose aspirin and is gastric coated to avoid tummy problems. It’s in a yellow packet behind the counter. You have to say if you are asked that your gp suggested it for you for avoiding heart problems . It’s 75mg
