I’ve just finished 4 infusions of carboplatin for recurrence stage 3 serous carcinoma

The 3rd one I had an allergic reaction and they stopped and gave me antihistamines then waited a bit and finished

The last time they gave me the antihistamines first but had to stop at 290 instead of finishing the full 500 mil

I’m now on day 3 after and getting really bad shoulder pain. Ca 125 is down to 31 and waiting till the 20 th to see where I finished up then monthly blood tests to monitor

Also any info on tamoxifen, my cancer is not caused by oestrogen so can’t see why it’s of benefit as I’m ok with hrt

Hello.. sorry I don’t really have any useful advice, just wanted to say that your questions are very valid and you should keep asking them..your oncologist should be clear about the strategy they are using to treat you... and if you don’t feel they are clear then a second opinion is the way to go xx

Hi I am on Tamoxifen as my original tumour was Oestrogen fed . So yes agree with Lyndy your oncologist should explain why they have suggested it . Hopefully you can get some answers xx
