Hi All

I hope your summers are going ok. I've been enjoying this supportive group and am thankful to have the resources and pleasant people here to turn to. I'm from a small province in Canada. I've posted a couple times on here and have recently started blogging my journey with OC to help others and myself manage through. I'm not sure if I will stick with it but so far it's been helpful and gives me a way to write and get my emotions dealt with :-) Here is my blog if you are interested. Hopefully it's ok to post here.

Hi Fighter! I did a blog on Facebook starting in November, 2015 but haven't updated it in a few years. I am 4 years after diagnosis of Fallopian Tube cancer with mets to abdomen. It's called 'Got Some 'Splaining to D0' because I kinda dropped out of sight until after my surgery to friends and some family. I knew I would get smothered in concern that I wasn't quite ready for. So the blog explained a lot to them.

I really enjoyed sharing and there's a lot of humor in it. It got me thru! I'll read yours. Keep it up!! I was thinking I'll update mine soon but I really have nothing to report that is new. Just that all is well at this point in time. I am in the US, by the way, so treatments may be different that you are experiencing.

It is a great therapy isn’t it. I write in a journal but can’t illustrate it like I used to. It’s so important to let the emotions know they’ve been heard and felt. Yours is very honest and good to read . It’s reassuring to know we aren’t alone in the way we feel and they way we face the situation.

Carry on as it’s good to look back and know what things felt like.

Good wishes

Alex

Hi Fighter -This is going to sound "corny" but I find it admirable that people who walk through the flames of hell, carry buckets of water for those who are still on the journey. Your blog may be the "water" that someone else needs today. It can inspire others to find their strength, can let someone know she is not alone in her feelings, and can provide comfort to others who walk this journey with you. And if it does none of that, but helps only you, it is still worthwhile.

I too blog about my journey (mycancerconfessions.com) and find it a good way to release some of the fear and worry, to share some of the experiences, and to let others know what my journey is like in hopes that it will ease some of the stress and confusion that comes with a cancer diagnosis. I am currently NED (though CA125 is slowly rising) the blogging has lessened, but all the same, it's good to have a place to share your thoughts and feelings with people who empathize.

I enjoyed reading your blog and encourage you to continue to write - both there and here. It will bring you comfort to put your thoughts into words and it will bring us all comfort to know you are progressing on your journey to recovery. Stay the course, focus on your positive future and on the love of your family and friends. Blog on, Teal Sister!

I love your blog too. You put into words what I have had difficulty with. I don’t know if you are aware of some of the new information around about NSAIDs (Ibuprofen) or aspirin being anti carcinogenic and trials are underway in several places. Also metformin and other repurposed drugs. I’m reading Jane McLelland’s book on “How to starve cancer” and some NHS doctors are appearing to be interested in the science. It may not be for everyone but it is a possible source of hope.

Wishing you the best

Alex
