I have recently had an ultra sound scan, which could not find my ovaries.

Doc seem surprised and I am now going for a transvaginal scan. Although Im not to worried about this, I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this, is it usual for ovaries not to be seen on a scan.

I had a CT scan about 6 years ago as part of a comprehensive health check and was told ovaries couldn't be found. I was told because of age (58 at the time and post menopausal for some time) this was not unusual. I don't want to worry you but I was, to say the least, surprised to find 2 years ago I had stage 4 CA Ovaries!. I hope your transvanginal scan puts your mind at rest. Best of luck.

Hello and thank you for your reply, at least I know its not unusual. I think the scan is just a precaution as my sister had ovarian and breast cancer at a young age (25), and I have several symptoms of OC, but as we know this can be many things. Hopefully they will find them on Monday and all will be fine.
