Try not to worry- they are trying to keep you well and when we have treatment this can cause blood levels to go up or down - there will be a solution xx

Did you get a ca125 reading? Was the potassium part of a full blood test? All results help them decide what to do and how to help. Although it is horrible when there’s something but no explanation...they are getting closer to finding some answers-keep strong xx

Hi, yr on the ovarian cancer forum. Do you have symptoms, is that why yr CA125 has been tested?

I have my blood test results in front of me and it says normal range for potassium is 3.5 to 5.1 and mine is 5.8. I am on a clinical trial and no one seems to be worried about this so guess it is not very high.

Hi there.

If a blood test is not processed immediately then the potassium can be falsely elevated resulting in bloods being unnecessarily repeated. Often GPs don’t do potassium levels unless really needed for this very reason. If the rest of your renal function is ok, chances are it’s absolutely nothing to worry about. 😊

They're just repeating the potassium level test because its a teeny bit high - as Neona says, normal range is up to 5 or 5.1, so they're just making sure its not risen again and to see if they get the same result. Mine was 5.5 recently and they retested - back down to within normal range two weeks later.

Since I started Zejula, my potassium was low, but, it was related to a new diuretic my GP had put me on due to the High BP Zejula was causing. I have been taking prescribed Potassium pills and number finally came up.

In your case, they are concerned that your number is too high? I'm sure they can give you something to lower it? Good luck!

Not what you're looking for?
