I finished 3rd line chemo just over a month ago & am now on a maintenance drug. But for the last few days I feel really bloated and as each day has come I’m unable to eat much to a point I’m now only sipping a meal supplement drink. I’m due to go for routine clinic on Wednesday but I’m wondering if anyone else has had this where they cannot eat?

Unable to eat
Sorry to hear you’re feeling so yuk! What maintenance drug are you on and could it be a side effect from that?
Hopefully you will get some answers at your appointment but carry on with the meal supplements at least that way you’re getting some nutrition x
Dear Scotty,
I agree with BEV that this could be a side effect of your maintenance drug.
Please tell us what it is and the dose you are taking, but better yet, call the Chemo emergency line tomorrow morning.
They should be able to help you.
Meanwhile, keep drinking your supplement and as much water as you can swallow.
Best wishes,
Laura
PS: I just looked up your bio and then the maintenance drug you are on, Arimidex.
Here are the list of common side effects:
Common side effects of Arimidex include:
constipation,
diarrhea,
nausea,
vomiting,
upset stomach,
loss of appetite,
body aches and pains (back pain, bone pain, joint pain or stiffness),
Hi Scotty6, I am sorry you feel as though you cannot eat. The same thing happened to me after a year in remission. It is really how I knew something was wrong, I felt bloated and could not eat, I just felt awful as though there was no room to let the food go down. I just had extremely small meals much to my husbands concern. I also developed some pain just under my right ribs to the centre of my abdomen. I found out following a CT scan and Ca125 had increased, and the cancer had spread to my spleen. I still have days when I just cannot eat, I feel as though there is no room. Having meal supplements is a good idea.
Although mine wasn’t good for me, it doesn’t as you know mean it will be bad for you, wishing you well for your appointment. I have my CT scan tomorrow morning (mid 2nd cycle of chemo) to see if the tumours are shrinking.
Sending you lots of love 💕 hugs 🤗 and positivity xxxx
