I will finish Avastin in May for stage 3c OC. I've been thinking about going for a consultation at the Care Oncology Clinic with the intention of starting their 'off label' drug regime. I wondered if any ladies on here are currently under their care are if so how are you getting on? How long has it been and have you had any recurrences? Also I know some of the drugs they prescribe are pretty heavy going especially the Doxycylline so has that caused any problems? Many thanks,

Hi, I’ve been on this regime since late 2016 after dx of platinum refractory disease (grows whilst on chemo). Initially, following surgery in 2015, my dx was 3C HGS (high grad serous). Following first line chemo scan showed progression with mets around liver. Given the stats for plat. refractory - I believe the meds really slowed down the disease for around a year. When it showed it was progressing again....I added THC/CBD (1:1 ratio). Last scan = stable (although I did get shrinkage within 3 months of starting THC/CBD). Past my “best before date” and still going. My onc and GP know what I’m doing and GP now prescribes all - apart from Mabendazole, which I get via the clinic.
I cope well with the protocol but struggle with increasing Metformin dose (monitored by COC). I cannot tolerate Doxycycline due to acute reaction (oesophagus) - but that is a long standing problem. I also keep a daily diary and found that after adding Dipyridamole to the statin - it caused repeated stomach upset for me so have had to stop that one. Dipy isn’t part of their protocol but mentioned in How To Starve Cancer book by Jane McLelland.
Care Oncology had a live webinar yesterday (Tues 26/3) and they plan to get that up on their YouTube channel soon. Definitely recommend watching....as they covered a lot of questions people put to them. Keep an eye out for when it’s posted but here’s a link to their channel so you can subscribe for updates: youtube.com/channel/UCzS4BJ...
Hi Sticky 3006I had stage 3b cancer and I am now on second line treatment for recurrence. I wasn’t offered anything else, just Carboplatin and Caelyx. I have a CT scan mid cycle to see if it’s working. I guess when you are like us, you do try anything. I hope you make a decision which is right for you, everybody has different side effects from medication.
Sending you lots of love 💕 hugs 🤗 and positive thought to help you make the right decision for you xx
