Just wondering if anyone has tried services offered by Naturopathic Doctors offering cancer care treatments, such as Vitamin C IV therapy, mistle toe IV therapy, Vitamin D IV, etc,? If so, can you share your experiences (good or bad)? Many thanks.
p.s. looking forward to watching the Royal Wedding tomorrow?
Take good care,
Luci

Luci22, I have had IV vitamin C and mistletoe treatments. I can say that the vitamin C has helped me get over colds very quickly which has been a bonus! Not sure if it has done anything for my cancer. The mistletoe has caused an allergic reaction so I have stopped taking the injections. Again I am not sure that it has done anything in regard to my cancer. I will start the mistletoe again at a lower dose next week but I am not sure how long I will stay on any of it as I may be going on a clinical trial so imagine that I will be told to cease these treatments. Imagine I may be told to also stop the supplements I am taking but I guess I will find out soon enough.
Hi RonLitBer, this is interesting as I have heard the mistletoe can cause a reaction in some. I'm interested in the Vit C. How much dose (grams?) do you get? You mention other supplements - anything you can share? One ND told me it's common to take wild mushroom supplements and extra high dose vit D. There is so much out there, lots to learn. Sounds like the vitamin C can be worthwhile if at least it's helping with colds and hopefully more. Thanks for responding and good luck with the clinical trial.
I am getting 50g of vitamin C via IV infusion. Prior to the infusions you need to do a blood test called a G6PD. You can have 25g, 50g or I think 75g. They do a pin prick test after the first 2 infusions to see the results. Apparently giving more than needed does not work better. I only need 25g but am getting 50g as it was making me feel a bit better. The dose is determined by body weight and the pin prick is a blood glucometer reading. I am also taking a mushroom extract Agaricus blazei (2 capsules twice a day) which is supposed to posses antimutagenic and antitumor effects. It is pricey and a bottle costs me about $75 dollars. I am taking curcumin supplements (1 per day), melatonin (5mg at night), omega 3 fatty acids (high potency) 1 tsp/day. Vitamin D 2,000 daily. 25mg of zinc, probiotic 2/day. I also take CBD and 1:1 THC oil. On days that I do not get the Vitamin C infusion I take 1,000mg of vitamin C taken morning, noon and night (for a total of 3,000mg). I think that is about it. Has it helped? Who knows. I still have caner and I am platinum resistant right now. I guess I just want to feel like I am doing something. Hope the information is of some help to you.
That is a lot to take but all for a very good reason. I'm taking my mom to see 2 naturopathic doctors this week for a free consultation to hear what they offer. It sounds like they do a similar regime for cancer patients because I have read on their websites similar options. At this point she has finished first line but it's tough to sit back and wait (I'm always thinking about it, as I'm sure she is). She is taking baby aspirin, which I found out about through posts here, but time will tell what is working or not. I wish you a very good response in your trial. Are they considering immunotherapy? I hear about this more nowadays, wondering how far along it is and what exactly it can do.
Hi I’ve had to stop all my supplements I was taking as I start on a trial on Monday. Not sure any of them helped my cancer as I have a recurrence 4 months after first line chemo but they really did make my overall wellness better and improved my energy levels! I’ve been off them all a week now and I’ve noticed a massive difference in my mood and motivation but I guess this could also be my reaction to a recurrence and having to start chemo again on Monday?
Who knows but I certainly felt I was benefitting from my supplements
I took Curcumin, multivitamin with iron, CBD oil and serrapeptase every day and feel a bit adrift without them xx
Thanks for the input. Hopefully you can get back on your regime and start feeling much better soon as chemo ends. Wishing you luck and success on your next treatment.
