Has anyone started on the Dice trial being run at Royal Marsden. It is fairly new . It is a randomised trial Weekly Taxol plus an oral tablet taken for 12 days each 28 day cycle. It is a Phase 2 trial but the side effects on paper look pretty extensive. One arm of the trial would just receive the weekly Taxol. I have been told I have small spots on liver although I only finished Pissaro trial in August. It's just so difficult decking which way to go. Any advice anyone?

Trial or not
Dear Carpag,
I wish someone could answer and advise you.
I have only just looked this new trial up:
targetovariancancer.org.uk/...
clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...
But I certainly cannot help you make a decision. It looks like you will have to keep researching and discussing with your consultants.
I hope you can find some good advice somewhere and soon!
Best wishes,
Laura
If your next treatment is proposed to be weekly Taxol then perhaps there's good reason for trying this trial. You'd either get weekly Taxol or weekly Taxol plus the trial drug.
Of interest to me is this trial allows ovarian carcinosarcoma patients to participate but alas excludes those who have already had weekly taxol, which I have. Oh well......
Good luck with whatever you decide. Remember it's unlikely you'll get all the side effects listed, you just need to be advised of them. Ask your team if you were allocated to the trial drug, whether in the event of unacceptable side effects you could move onto weekly Taxol, either as part of the trial or normal care.
All the best!
Hello,I was wondering if you went ahead with the DICE trial. I'm also discussing it with the oncologist at the Marsden and wanted to see how tough it was. Thanks so much for letting me know.
Hi, did you start on dice, I’m just about to hopefully start on it, but seems very few people are on it. Very little information x
Hi there, no I've not started on it. I received a pack of information from the Marsden on the trial and everything that is entailed but I'm waiting for another CT scan before making the decision on what drug regime to follow. I do hope it goes well for you. I'll let you know if I do go down that route. X
Good luck, whichever way you go. Thought I was going to have to go to Marsden, but luckily they are doing it from Southampton too.
