It’s fantastic news though only for women with BRCA mutations in the study. I hope it’s going to work for others as well!! Xo

I think you may be in this group! I can't tell if they are saying some patients were cured, meaning eventually they stopped taking it and the cancer did not return or if they stayed on it. Has coming off it ever been discussed for you, Kathy? Still, this news is another good sign of its potential and future uses as well. oxox

Hi No, coming off has never been mentioned, I've been told I'll only come off if I get a recurrence and when I mentioned the possibility of a recurrence a couple of visits ago given I have been on it so long and getting a bit antsy about how long my luck will hold I was told not to worry as I had such a good response I would probably have standard chemo then go back on it under another trial (Molto). I'm going in a couple of weeks for my 12 weekly check up so I am going to discuss the report with one of the young oncologists I see who gets very excited by how well I am doing lol and is very 'research' orientated. Hope you are doing ok xx

I go in for my check up (scan and bloods) next week and starting to get nervous. Makes sense as to what they are doing with you and glad to hear they have a plan should it stop working for you but as you say, you know women a few years ago they had said were at 7 years. Do you still get nervous at test time? I wish for you it works forever! oxox

Thanks for your good wishes, I just wish everyone was as lucky as I have been. I don't get nervous until I am actually in the room, then I have been known to tear my husband from limb to limb if he so much as breathes too loudly....... I have my blood tests, go for a coffee, feel fine but the min I sit in the room waiting I can feel my heart start to pound and then they take my blood pressure which is always sky high at that point, they write it down and say oh that's because you are waiting for results..... Anyway, poor hubby has learnt to sit quietly in the corner not saying a word lol. Do let us know how your results go. Try not to worry beforehand, worrying changes nothing - that's my mantra until I get in the room! xx
