Wahoo!! I have a new date for my surgery! 10th October. Not sure why I am so pleased, I am terrified of the procedure, but when it was cancelled at the last minute I felt cheated. Getting a new date has been an uphill battle, but I was determined to make a nuisance of myself, on occasions I have been short tempered with admin staff, who seem to enjoy treating patients like a mushrooms (keep in dark and feed Bull s**t) what I think they forget is that because they deal with us the patients all day everyday they become impervious to the effect that the diagnosis and treatments have on us as human beings. Hope you all have a great weekend. Lyn xx

Thank you Nancy - onward and upward for all of us. Lyn xx
Well done, sometimes we just have to grind them down.
I really looked forward to having my surgery, it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be and you feel like steps are being taken in the right direction to get it all sorted.
Well done and good luck lovely ❤️Xx Jane
Thank you Jane, I hope you are continuing to be in remission, may it last for many years to come. Lyn xx
Great Lyn,
Unfortunately for you you have had to fight a battle when you least need it....but you have won.
Don’t be terrified, it gives you the best chance, had mine done 4 years ago, with 6 monthsof carbo/ taxol and I’m still here.
Take it gentle, do as you are told and take any help that is offered, it is a major op and will take you at least 6 weeks to heal.
There will be lots of advice on here from the ladies,
Just want to wish you well,
Carole xxx
Thank you xx
P.s I strangely looked forward to my op too❤️
That's fab news. Surgery is difficult enough without the extra worry of, when. At least you can now plan your life around the surgery date. All the best wishes that all goes very well and you make a great recovery. Nic
Thank you xx
Hi Lyn ,Glad you have a date ,go kick the cancer in the bum, Chine up you will be ok.just be kind to yourself relax, don't lift any thing and in no time you will be up on your feet.
Take care lots of best wishes for the op ..Lorraine xx
Hi Lorraine - Thank you, just getting a date has melted the anxiety away, I have a massage booked next week then lunch with friends to catch up on all the gossip. Then a lovely walk around a beautiful lake...…..I love Autumn. Hope you doing well. Lyn x
So relieved to hear they finally gave you a date--and not so far away so your anxiety won't be for long. Think of it as another step (big step) towards recovery. I am so glad for you. Your story was quite frustrating to read, and can't imagine how you felt waiting for the new date. (Love your mushroom analogy!! Going to start using it if you don't mind!!)
oxoxoxo Judy
Hi Judy - Thank you, the waiting was the worst, I have responded to chemo very well, I just didn't want to undo all the good results and be back to square one. Mushroom away! Lyn xx
Hi Lyn
I understand your mixed feelings well. I am delighted you have got a date. I had a scan last week and find out on wednesday whether it has reduced enough to undergo surgery now. I have the same thing why I am excited that I want them to say yes and dreading if they say no when I am terried of the big op, but as somebody said on here its moving on to the next stage towards recovery. Do keep posting as you will be a step ahead of me all the way and I will be interested in the next step all the time. If you dont mind me asking what health authority are you under. Keep positive and we will beat it after our ops posts on here say its not as bad as we think.
Gillianx
Hello Gillian - I will keep posting as I know how helpful it is to read about someone in a similar stage of this horrendous journey. I am sure it is the fear of the unknown, and as so many have assured me on here it wont be as bad as my imagination has conjured up. I did meet a lady at my last appointment who had been de-bulked two weeks before and she looked amazing, she said she was up and about the day after. So fingers crossed we are the same. Good luck with your treatment and impending op. Lyn x
Excellent news - now go and enjoy the sunshine - the operation will not be as bad as you think it will be if my experience is anything to go by (and I had just about everything removed!!!!) xxx
Hi Lyn , just realised that today’s the day, hope everting went OK , thinking of you .Julia x
Hello Julia - Thank you, the surgery went well and my surgeon said the cancer wasn’t as extensive as first thought, so a bit of good news, he did however take out both ovaries Fallopian tubes omentum uterus cervix womb and appendix!! I am hoping to go home Tuesday or possibly Wednesday-the surgeon will let me know tomorrow. Apart from the obvious pain and fatigue I am good, can’t wait to get home. How are you? Lyn xx
