Well here I am doing the ‘night shift’ trawling of the internet prior to my surgery first thing today. I have always avoided looking at anything related to c125 levels as I really didn’t want to know. However have just discovered that this can be raised due to a number of factors and not just OC. ultra sound scan showed cysts on both ovaries but have no symptoms of ovarian cysts or ovarian cancer. First consultant did an internal following the ultra sound and said things were all very movable which was good and if it was OC it was early days. Then had ct scan and saw a different consultant who said he didn’t think it was early days but he didn’t physically examine me. Everyone keeps saying they don’t know what they are looking at but I’m not sure whether to take that as we don’t know whether it is OC or it is that but we don’t know the stage etc. No history in my family, I’m a life long non smoker, don’t drink and keep fit and active. Talk about confused! All will be revealed after tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar.
Totally confused: Well here I am doing the ‘night... - My Ovacome
Totally confused
I just wanted to send you positive thoughts and good wishes for a successful surgery with the best possible outcome.
xx Gina
Good luck with surgery today x the waiting to find out either way is the worse time x
Focus on getting through today and worry about tomorrow if you need to when it comes xx
Hi,
I was in exactly the same position 5 years ago, they were treating it as OC but didn't really know, it's a confusing state to be in as you don't know what you are dealing with. As it turned out mine was OC and the surgeon knew as soon as he operated and when I woke up he told me he was 88 percent sure it was OC and this was confirmed after histology, and although that was not the result I wanted it was a relief to actually know rather than being left in limbo as I had been for the previous 3 months!
I guess what I am trying to say is sometimes they just don't know until they operate. I really hope you have a positive outcome today, but if not at least you will know what you are dealing with and have a plan.
Good luck, for me waiting and worrying about having the surgery was worse than actually having it!
Take Care

Good luck with your surgery today, it is true that the CA125 marker can change for reasons other than OC, if yours is then the right steps are being taken to deal with it and if it’s not OC then that’s great, either way you’ll know fairly soon and can move ahead with all the relevant knowledge.
The thought of the surgery really is worse than the actual having it, the pain isn’t as bad as you think it will be, it is sore but you will recover in time. Take lots of care of you, rest well and let everybody look after you. Big healing hugs lovely ❤️Xx Jane
Hope all goes well today. When you are well enough pleae keep us updated.
I had no symptoms of OC or cysts and my surgeon thought it was fibroids even though I said I was a bit old for them. He said my CA125 at 31 was reassuring but as I said to him not a guarantee. Unfortunately after histology I was proved right and mucinous OC was diagnosed.
Thinking of you and remember to take care of yourself mentally and physicaaly after the op.
best wishes Fay
Hope all went well with the surgery today. Your medical team will soon share with you what they found out during surgery. Hopefully you won't need any further treatment but if yes, remember: The biggest step (surgery) is already behind you.
Wish you a speedy recovery. Maus.
