It was a seromucinous adenofibroma and not a cancerous one

So, my laproscopic total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingoopherectomy has been done and my histology report is back. It was benign but I am very glad it was removed as it had 'potentially problematic' (but not cancerous) mucous in it.

They managed to get it out without bursting along with my fibroids and cysts on my fallopian tubes.

I cannot thank you lovely people (and Anna) enough for your support and for helping me to not feel paranoid or princessy about wanting to know more details about my cyst and my risk factors. For me, the "10% risk of it being cancerous" (plus the pain) was enough to make me go for surgery sooner rather than wait for the option a second scan.

Maybe I'm overcautious because of the amount of cancers in my family? Either way, I'm glad the painful intruder is gone.

I wish all of you, whatever your diagnosis, a positive journey and promise to be a lifelong supporter of Ovacome (and other OC charities). I had no idea about the complexity and different types of OC until I found this site, nor did I realise that such peer support and nurse support was available online.

Keep strong and keep well if you are living with this, but also if you are supporting someone waiting for surgery or going through treatment.

Much love,

Penny
