Some of you may remember I posted a little while ago about the potential closure of Sue Ryder Nettlebed, which would leave us without a hospice in South Oxfordshire.
They are intending to concentrate more effort into care in the community and say that 75 percent of people surveyed would prefer end of life care in the home, but we say that 95 percent of people surveyed would prefer end of life care in a hospice environment. The love, care and compassion received up there by the staff is second to none and is held very dearly in many people's hearts in this community.
Since my last post I have been very busy to Save Sue Ryder. I have written articles in the local Henley Standard, I have spoken in the Town Council Chamber, I have published a Government Petition on line and a paper petition. The Council were fantastic in their response and are going to call a public meeting in Henley, so that the local population can discuss the situation and have their voices heard.
I will try to put my petition on line here and it would be wonderful if some of you could sign it. If I can't do it please go to my Facebook page Lynne Carter.
