Inflammation.

Hi lovely ladies I hope you are all doing ok.

Since my sigmoidoscopy three weeks ago Ive been getting tenderness and pain around the left rib area. My sigmoidoscopy showed that the thickness the CT identified was nothing. 👍🏻

I went to my Gp about these pains. He prescribed gaviscon and some other tablets. Both for heartburn which I don’t have. I did a blood test though and have been sent for another as my CRP is high. I have inflammation. Can cancer cause this or would it probably be something viral ?

I’m worried now. ☹️ Xxxxx

I don't know but I looked up a high CRP level and read it's more likely to be bacterial than viral.

I would go back to your GP and explain that the heartburn medication isn't helping. Something must be causing the pain.

All the best!

Hi

Thank you. Yes something isn’t right. I think the sigmoidoscopy aggravated my bowel.

It seems to be getting worse.

I've had on and off pain there ever since the op and was told it's scar tissue. Nothing seems to have happened about it so hopefully all will be okay. It's been nearly five years so I think something would have shown by now.

Good luck with it Suzanne and make sure you get all the tests possible.

Hugs, Zena xxx

Hello Suzanne, I think you need to go back to your GP and tell him/her it's not working. I do have pains there but it's on & off. Keeping you in my prayers. Hugs.😘

Hi Luchie.

How are you?

Are you still having the avastin?

I’ll see what the next blood test throws up. I’m sure the sigmoidoscopy I had aggravated my bowel.

I hope you are doing ok.

Big hugs. Xxxxx

Hi Suzanne,

I would go back to the GP again. It could be scar tissue is causing problems or irritating tissue nearby? But I’m not an expert so I would go and ask more questions.

I would not worry though. It sounds like they are managing it.

Lots of love, Nicky x

Thank you Nicky.

I’ll see what the blood test throws up next week. I don’t think it’s anything sinister but it does hurt.

I hope you are ok. Hugs xxx

Hi Suzanne--I think additional testing is all you can do and it sounds like the inflammation could be from a bacteria --so what tests did they do and what other different tests can they do--sometimes asking helps you understand their thinking which then puts you more at ease. One thing I found is no pain stays the same--it either gets better or worse--so with your sensitive awareness, keep on top of your medical team to get answers sooner rather than later--for peace of mind and everything else. Good luck--I will be thinking of you and waiting for updates. Try to worry only a little while a day....not all the time, as long as the pain is not overwhelming. (Easier said than done but you just finished treatment recently and deserve to enjoy that time too).

Hi Judy.

Thank you. I think after next weeks blood test, they’ll see if the inflammation is getting worse or better. The doctor did say something about an endoscopy. I went for a carvery today with my mum and couldn’t eat all my food as I had a really uncomfortable feeling like a stitch in my tummy. My back felt and still feels funny too.

I’ll

Keep on top of it. 👍🏻👍🏻

I hope everything is good with you.

Well at least you are very aware of your body. Wishing you luck as you commandeer what this is! Will wait for you update Suzanne and thinking about you. I had my scan after Carbo/Caelyx yesterday and results with my oncologist tomorrow.

Hi

Aww. Are you nervous? I don’t like getting results. I get shaky. Lol. My friend was on caelyx and carbo for 2nd line and did really well on it had a complete response 👍🏻👍🏻

I’m hoping your results will be very positive too and I’m sure they will be.

I’ll be thinking of you and please let us know how you get on.

Hugs. Xxxx

Nervous? I was having heart palpitations last night! The hardest for me is the wait from test time to results time but even leading up to test time can cause my nerves to fray! I will let you know. It all is well, I start on a PARP soon.

Aww. I know. It’s a horrible feeling. The worry can take your breath away.

Which PARP are you having? Xxxx

My doctor seems to think Rubraca or Olaparib would both be good (I am BRCA II) but my son is a master researcher for me :-) and he said all he has read shows that Olaparib has the least side effects of the ones approved. My platelets are still low from treatment (that ended March 16th) so I am a bit concerned as I believe that's a pretty common side effect on a PARP. I have more than one sheet of questions to bring with me tomorrow! oxoxo
