Cold

Good evening beautiful ladies,

I'm experiencing some quite strange symptoms.. wondering if anyone can relate.

As the temperatures have dropped I'm finding that my stomach is hurting more. I want to say my digestive tract is okay as I'm having a bowel movement daily and everything seems okay. But I'm getting stomach spasms, like cold cramps. Then I feel a slight tightening in my stomach and it gurgles and I feel better.

I hope this makes sense to you all and someone can relate.

Much love

Asma

Yes I seem to get that, thought I was imagining it when it first started, but definitely when my tummy gets cold I seem to get bowel spasms, and even upset tummy. There is something in Chinese medicine which refers to this. I can definitely relate to this. X

I know everybody says not to, but if you google this you will find lots of references to the cold weather and tummy spasms, chemo left my digestive system in a very delicate state for about three years, and it was made worse by cold weather.x

Hi asma

Please talk to your onc. I had no significant symptoms what so ever. Had good daily stools. Then overnight my stools changed, stomach started cramping and gurgling and within 3 days i had a bowel blockage just like that. Had to have a life saving emergency op and now have a permanent stoma. The last 4 weeks have been a bloody tough road. One i wouldn't wish on anybody. Though I'm still recovering I'm back on chemo which makes it even harder. Not saying this will happen to you but what I'm saying is you can't be too carefull so get it checked. Better safe then sorry.

The same happened to me. I was told mt stoma was permanent too but after my TAH they performed a bowel resection too. The plan is to reverse once chemo is finished. My bowel movements were normal then as you say started having pains and gurgling and difficulty going. So I would definitely tell your onc so they can check it out.

oh my lovely, I'm wishing you all the best and all the prays in the world.

I will be seeing the oncologist next week but this has been ongoing, the gurgling since before my last chemo and now the cold thing since this chemo has ended and the cold has settled in. But when I have mentioned it before she has told me that it is nothing to worry about and that I'm imaging it :(

This is why I like coming back to this site and hear other peoples experiences x

Hi Asma and all

I was really interested to read all your posts...I did not realise at the time but I was very close to bowel blockage before diagnosis. Since then it has become the thing that terrifies me the most...particularly as the medics don't always seem to spot it or take it seriously. I believe that many Oc sufferers would have a longer, more comfortable life if there was more focus on catching it earlier.

Hope your Onc meeting goes well Asma xx
