I asked the question whether there is a connection and was told that you are more likely to get endometrial cancer rather than OC .I have a daughter who has PCOD and I have OC.
Not that you will necessarily get it of course .
Take care all X

I have asked same questions ....
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15 , 55 years ago !
I had an ovary and a half removed wtih a huge dermoid cyst , when I was 25 ....
and diagnosed with Ovarian / Primary Peritoneal when I was 62 .
I am now 68 . Throughout all this , I have been told that there was no connection , merely coincidence !
This patient remains unconvinced ....I await the research that indicates otherwise !
I am alive however , thanks to brilliant scientists and wonderful staff throughout the NHS .
Good Luck xx
53 not 55 !!!
OH , and I was told that I would not be able to have children , and I had my son when I was 42 , considered very old at the time .
Hi Angela,
I suffered with endometriosis since I was in my teens, also had polycystic ovaries, went through infertility treatment for years.
We never had any children, I always connected this to endometriosis.
Ended up having womb removed at ,30 due to heavy bleeding and clots, then 7 years later had all the rest out tubes, overies.
After 17 years with no problems for the first time in my life was diagnosed with very rare overian cancer due to having no overies.
I as m sure it's all connected somehow.

I know I was not convinced by this answer by onco/gynaecologist either.
My mother had a huge ovarian cyst in her forties as well.
I was also told that I must ensure that daughter and granddaughter know signs and symptoms of OC-this a different onco/gynae.
So what do you believe?

Forgot to say-my daughter was taking fertility drugs when I was diagnosed and was told by her gynae to stop.
She then had 2 children naturally when she was 37 and 39 years old.

Hi Howick
My 20 year old daughter was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of months ago. I have asked GP , oncologist and genetics dr I saw when I went for BRACA testing if there is a link or if she is more at risk of getting OC, they have all said there is no (known ) link and she is not at an increased risk of getting OC due to her PCOS . The Ovacome helpline also confirmed this .
Like to hope they are correct as can't bare the thought of her going through this . She has enough to deal with at the moment with awful skin ( that's why she was eventually diagnosed ) and now weight issues . Just want her to be happy and healthy , such a worry when you don't know how long you are going to be around for them in the future .
Out of interest did your daughter follow a special diet , currently looking into options
Love and best wishes Kim x
Hi -she took Metformin as prescribed by gynae.
She did not have weight issues and few skin problems.
She was told she was infertile and had ovarian drilling which she thinks helped along with the Metformin.
