Cervical cancer: Hi all, in New on here...I'm 4... - My Ovacome
Cervical cancer
Hi Leo
Sorry to hear your news.
Most of us here suffer with overian cancer. I have heard of Avastin as it's been used also for OC and I understand that it's got good results.
But like I say this is for OC so not sure about cervical.
Can anyone else help here?
Best of luck. Also in Ireland

Thanks so much Ann Nora for replying, yes I kind of thought this was more for ovarian, new to all this but will have a look for a cervical cancer forum. I wish you all the best x
Hi Leo777
Thank you for your post. MyOvacome is for people affected by ovarian cancer, so although the chemotherapies used for both cervical and ovarian cancers are often similar (and also avastin is used for both cancers), you may find a forum for people affected by cervical cancer is of more help to you. Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust has plenty of reliable information and they have a forum on their website at the following link: jostrust.org.uk/forum
I hope this is helpful. I wish you all the best with your ongoing treatment.
Best wishes
Anna

Hi Anna. Leo777 husband here. I was just looking through Siobhan's mails and saw she made contact with this group. With deep sadness and regret I must inform you of Siobhan's recent passing. Siobhan became our special angel on the 13th Feb. last. We had the privilege of celebrating her 50th birthday two days previous to her passing. Thank you all so much for your kindness and advise which you shared with Siobhan. Best wishes to everyone. Damien.

Hi, I'm being treated for cervical too, I use this forum as most cervical treatment is the same as ovarian, so my chemo and avastin is an ovarian protocol, but the girls on here have so much info about what they are getting treated with, I have found this site invaluable. I'm also a member of a community group for breast cancer ladies but once again find it fantastic as they use many of the same drugs for cervical. So my advice is read whatever helps you to become more educated😃😃
Hi,Nacoates, thanks for replying...I joined jo's trust yesterday as advised by this site and have to say all very similar to here.....it's just so good to have somewhere to go to....everyone I know is so good but you can't beat talking with people who really knows what you are going through....I hope your treatment is going well and that you are well x
