Since husband's illness in January , my time management has gone AWOL . As some of you know he had a stroke and recurrence of Vasculitis . He is much on the mend and today we celebrate his 60 th birthday .
I am still on a watch and wait since coming off the Pembrolixumab trial . Six and a half years on from diagnosis with three c , five lots of chemo and the ops . I am still here !CT scan done on Monday and appointment next Tuesday . Much has been held back by immunity for those of you offered a trial ....hardly any side effects . That said , my thyroid gave up , skin reactions , bad tummy , were the reasons I was taken off the trial . Bits are growing , albeit slowly . By next week , I should have a plan in place , all I ever want !
Every ones away on holiday , if not , hope all having a decent time , soggy or sunny , depending on where you are !
Off to family lunch to celebrate life !
Hugs to all .

Angela, I am so pleased to read that both you & your husband are doing well. Have a lovely lunch you deserve some respite from the traumas you have faced. Love Caledaxxx
Lovely to hear from you Angela and that your hubby is doing well. As you say you are still here and long may that continue!. Go enjoy that lunch!! Life is definitely to be celebrated!. Big Hug. Kathy xx
Hope you all enjoyed the birthday lunch! It's such good news he's on the mend. My fingers are crossed you have good news on Tuesday; at least it's not too long to wait. Although having said that, you've been watching and waiting for some time, which is difficult in itself. If only we, or at least our doctors, had x-ray vision. I'm wondering if six and a half years might make it difficult to fully remember what life was like prior to a cancer diagnosis. I struggle with that somewhat and I've only been a year-and-a-half.
Happy birthday to your hubby, my hubby was 60 this month too. His present was a letter from the NHS saying now you are 60 you need to be screened for bowel cancer, along with a poop tray and scoop. I thought it was hilarious - he didn't lol.
Six and half years is great, let's see if we can make it ten.
My bowel cancer screening kit arrived 4 days after my 60th together with a holiday brochure for old people from saga, bloody cheek!. It's a total blast playing with ones bodily function.....not 😬 but I've done it twice now and if I can so can anybody, apparently the first one didn't count as I'd only finished chemo 11 days before so all that fun for nothing 😂, hope he doesn't ask you for any assistance 😬😬😬. ❤️
Hi Angela, Happy birthday to hubby 🎉. Hope you all had a lovely lunch full of lovely food and were all suitably stuffed ☺️.
It's lovely to hear from you again and it's excellent that you're both doing as well as is possible and long may this continue for you both. Life is definitely for living to the fullest so keep it up and enjoy as much as possible it along the way.
Good luck for the scan results on a Tuesday. Let us know how you do.
Sending big hugs to you both and special birthday wishes to your hubby ❤️Xx Jane
