Has anyone had any success with cyclophosphamide? It is chemotherapy, but I have been told it is not as bad as others on your immune system. I'd love to know how you got on. Thanks,

Hello Hectoria, yes I am on cyclo currently, in combination with avastin. I've been taking it since September last year. I have found it to be gentler than the intravenous chemos - it still causes tiredness but not as extreme. I haven't had any nausea to speak of with it. I get some headaches but I think that's more the avastin. My tumours have remained about the same - small - since September - i.e. It has controlled the disease but not really reduced it. I know that it can't be cured now so this is the aim of the treatment, to keep it stable.
Good luck with whatever you decide on.
Love,
Madeline.
Hi
I had carboplatin, cyclophosphamide plus Avastin last year, but due to low bloods my oncologist only gave me carboplatin for last 4 sessions. But if you are cyclophosphamide as a single agent, I think the side effects are not as severe as other chemos!
