I've tried 4 different insurance companies for holiday cover. Three declined me. Reasons. I was in a clinical trial. The others said its because I'm still having treatment - avastin.
MIA insurance will cover me for £163. With my son and partner added it would be £453. They can get their own insurance. Only thing is, if I had to cancel, they couldn't cancel on their separate policy for me being ill.
I think they'd happily go without me anyway.
Hoping all you ladies are ok . 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Xxxx

They have insured me several times, they refused an annual policy but were ok with single policy's (including a cruise) & I found them really reasonable.
If can manage it financially just pay whatever scenario you feel most comfortable with (ie all insured together or separate for son and partner) then forget the cost and go and ENJOY yourself xxx
Hi Suzanne I'm glad you got one quote. With our story they tend to head for the hills in my experience. When I spoke to MIA they told me to phone two months before the holiday date so I'm surprised (but pleased) that they gave you a quote for July. I may try ringing them again....
Whatever policy you go for enjoy the looking forward to it...!
I use insurewith they are really knowledgeable and not expensive and give really comprehensive cover. Hope you get cover and have a lovely holiday with your family❤xx Jane
Are you sure you've got this quite right? I've had their insurance several times. Perhaps I got the wrong end of the stick...?
What I remember MIA saying was that if I was taken ill when away then their cover for my husband would cover him having, for instance, to delay his return. Another company's policy might not let him. Generally, except for a long haul trip, he's gone with a different company.
I also thought that the cost they quoted excluded us having to cancel for cancer reasons, i.e. once we were away we were fine, but if the cancer flared up before we went we weren't covered.
Good luck with your search - it's so disheartening being turned down.
I wonder if Insurepink could help. set up by a lady who had had breast cancer and had trouble getting insurance. They were a bit expensive but I used them as everyone else I tried cost more. Might be worth a call.
I've got my holiday insurance through Boots! I'm on Avastin, but not as part of the clinical trial. The premium was half the amount of MIA, although both companies were as helpful and sensitive in their approach. My insurance is for 9 days skiing in Italy - it also covers my asthma. I got loyalty card points too!
