Evening ladies. I picked up this magazine yesterday at Christies. He is speaking at this event and here's a brief overview on his talk.
It is avaiable for live streaming and downloading. It will be worth hearing.
I was thanking him recently for the care he provided to a friend who also travelled from Northern Ireland and he told me he felt privileged to be able to treat his patients. I read this article and of course eyes filled up yesterday in the clinic. He has superhero status in our house.
On a personal note I am a year chemo free next week, longer than first time around thanks to the parp inhibitor Rucaparib. Please God let it continue to work for me ๐๐ป
I'm off to Spain in the morning with my friends, our trip will likely be chatting, eating and sleeping. Exactly what the doctor ordered ๐
Love to you all โค

Enjoy your trip to Spain sounds a great idea and congrats on reaching a year chemo free on the parp inhibitor . May it be the first of many many more .
Thank you Kim. My NY resolution for 2017 was to get away from home to do something nice once a month. I went to Copenhagen last month courtesy of my lovely son and this is my Feb trip.
I'm determined to stay off that pesky chemo for a bit longer and have another great year xo
Woo hoo! Well done on virtually getting the year medal. Keep it up. The prof is my hero too, him and Dr Clamp. They are both really good doctors at an excellent centre. Have a fab holiday, get some sun (+sunscreen ๐) and come back fully charged ready to continue the fight โค๏ธXx Jane
He sounds like the guru of OC that's for sure! I would have gone to the day as live near London but having my own 'escape' to Madeira for a few days, can't wait for some sunshine! Will hopefully get to watch it when I get back. I like that he has a holistic approach and also that he is working to get avastin back for 2nd line and beyond.
So great that Rucaparib is working well for you Julie, long may it continue. I'm on avastin with a chemo tablet - cyclophosphamide - which doesn't seem to have too many obvious side effects so far. I am lucky as have medical insurance so can have avastin on 3rd Line, I and many others are proof it can extend lives so I hope Prof Jayson's research helps get it back on the Nhs. Have a great holiday with your friends!
Love, Madeline x
Thank you for your super positive post Julie, just what I needed this morning. Enjoy your trip, sounds lovely. X
Must admit I'm glad he thinks avastin is worth it as I'm self funding the drug. Hopefully it will be available on the NHS again so it will be available for any further lines of chemotherapy that any of us may need.
Congratulations for your one year chemo-free anniversary ๐ทand enjoy Spain. ๐
I was planning on attending the event, but I'm having second thoughts as there is engineering work on my line that day and I'll have an extra hour's bus journey, each way. If I don't go, I'll definitely watch on line.
