Dear All
We need your help by voting for us to receive funding from The People's Projects. The People's Projects is a partnership between the National Lottery Community Fund, the National Lottery and ITV, which gives the public the power to decide how funding should be spent in each region of the UK.
Five community-based schemes are shortlisted in each region. The projects that receive the most public votes will each receive up to £50,000 of funding.
Ovacome has applied for this funding to set up a base in Birmingham, so that we will be able to better serve the Midlands area and the northern regions.
We want to give those affected by ovarian cancer living further north the same opportunities as those living close to London. We want to appoint a member of staff in Birmingham, who will deliver Ovacome's support services in the area, helping us to offer resources, personalised information, emotional support and wellbeing events, where women can meet others with similar experiences.
We also want to set up a local awareness campaigning programme, educating people living in the West Midlands about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. Our new member of staff will deliver free awareness talks to local businesses and community groups.
We will need your help to achieve all of this! Voting for our project to receive the funding will only take a few minutes and is completely free. You can live anywhere in the UK and still vote (you do not have to live in the West Midlands), but can only vote once.
To vote, follow the steps below:
- Click on this link: ow.ly/I78C50oJMhW
- Click on the 'Add to votes' button
- Click 'continue with your vote'
- Fill out your name and postcode, then enter either your email address or mobile number

- Click on the verification link that you have been sent. If you do not complete this step then your vote will not count.
Our video on the People's Project webpage explains how we would use the funding to better support those affected by ovarian cancer living in the Midlands and the North.
Thank you for your time, and votes!
Best wishes
The Ovacome Team
