I've just completed 7 cycles of chemo with surgery after cycle 4 ans avastin added for 6 and 7. Just had first Avastin alone and feeling quite fatigued. hoping it will settle down as i did so well off Carboplatin ans paclitaxel.

New.to avastin
I felt completely knocked out after the first 2 solo avastin infusions, but getting better now. My main problem is joint pains now.
I had Avastin as well and I still feel fatigue. Think it's the nature of the best!
Hi Rosemary
I also get quite tired on Avastin but I think you will get used to it as time goes on. I am really looking forward to my last one next week. I won't miss the blocked nose and nose bleeds, high BP and joint pain but all in all I wouldn't have missed it! X L
Hi Rosemary this is quite normal, but if you stop and rest for an hour you will feel the better of it. Other side effects can be mucky nose and joint pain, For the nose, get Neil Med rinses, can be bought over the counter and are effective. After a while your system will settle to it.
Hi Rosemary. I began Avastin along with 6 months of chemo (carbo/caelyx) and have continued the avastin for 41 further infusions (thereabouts). I have an infusion every 3 weeks. I get next to no side effects. It gives me an annoying runny nose almost every morning. It's also raised my blood pressure just a margin, so that I need to take 1/2 a tablet per day to keep it within the required limits to remain on the trial. Occasionally on the day of the infusion, I feel tired but that may be just because I had to get up early to be at the hospital. I read a lot on here about aches and pains caused by avastin. It's been wonderful for me - has given me a good remission. Good luck with it. Pauline
