First chemo done : First chemo done yesterday... - My Ovacome
First chemo done
I had same worry too regarding wig so much so I bought one just in case but I did not need to worry it did arrive before my hair went... I did not wear it much in the end but before my hair went I never thought I would be able to leave the house without a wig ..... glad your first chemo went well 🤗🤗🤗
Hi jennydunk. Glad your first chemo went well. Take it easy for the next few days and build your strength if you can for the next treatment. One hurdle at a time and you'll get there.

Well done Jenny!
One down now! That's the way I got through them by thinking there was one less each time! You will prob feel ok for first couple of days but listen to your body and take it easy when you feel you need to! My hair started falling out about 14 days after first Chemo!
I hope the next few days are ok some people don't suffer from too many side effects so you might be lucky!
Take it easy!

Well done that's first one out the way . I was lucky with side affects a bit achy day 3 and 4 and mood swings I think from steroids . As others have said everyone reacts differently so listen to your body and contact your CNS if needed for advice .
Good luck for the rest of your treatment . Stay well and strong Kimx
Well done on cracking number 1. My hubby bought two badge sets of numbers 1 to 6 and we both put on the number of the chemo and wore the badge for the 3 weeks, then changed to the next badge on the next Chemo day. I wore a combat cap and pinned my badges to that.
Once my hair started to come out hubby shaved it to a grade 2. What a relief! It was amazing.
If you do start to feel unwell and your meds don't help then please ring your Unit as they can supply different meds etc.
Take care

Hi there. Day 3 I used to find was the worst day - could only watch TV on that day. Day 4 I could read a book. I'd have a shower at the end of day 4 & then I'd begin to feel gradually better. It's good to know how it affects you, then you know what to expect and can plan your days accordingly. As has been said above, we all react differently. Constipation in the 1st week was a problem for me. I learned how much laxative I needed in that week and when to take it. If you are constipated, do take it seriously. Day-to-day laxatives (or fruit) are not enough - don't waste your time trying them. You'll need an industrial strength laxative! My husband shaved my head as soon as I began to lose my hair but I don't recommend it. I'd go for the closer shave as Clare has suggested. Good luck - I get the vibe that you'll cope well. Pauline
Well done. I used to think of it as my regular coffee morning with drips and took a different member of my family each time so they could see that it wasn't as scary as they were imagining. Hope all goes well and don't forgot ring your Chemo Unit if you are unsure or worried about anything. Peace of mind helps a lot I found.

One down, five more to go!
Keep a diary as I found if I was hyper on Day 1 (steroids) then I always was. I had pains on Day 3 it was always Day 3 on the other cycles. Red face on Day 2, etc. etc. It helps with planning outings, etc.
All the best!
