Well, I'm in sunny Spain now (part relaxing, part working) but I just wanted to share with you a little 'win' today! Despite being holed up in bed the last 3 days with flu (figures...haven't had anything like that since the New Year!) AND breaking a toe today by kicking a sun bed (OUCHIE!) I managed my first 2km swim since May! Granted, it was about 13mins slower than my PB before all this C nonsense started (I've always been big into my swimming), but I was just jolly happy to have been able to get it done.
Minor stitch like pains around surgery site, but took it SUPER easy and I have to say, i feel GREAT for it! It's nice to get the old heart rate up and feel like i'm getting back to my normal self.
Having gone from a 3-4 times a week gym bunny to NOTHING since June (when I had my first of two ops)...it's nice to get just a little bit out of breath again!
Slowly trying to catch up with all your news but in the meantime, just wanted to post a positive story.
Thinking of you all!

Well done Mrs A! You certainly are the globetrotter! I am heading to Thailand in 3 weeks and am beyond excited!!! I was the opposite of you not a gym bunny before C but a little obsessed with it now and enjoying breaking into a sweat on a regular basis!
Ah D have a WONDERFUL time in Thailand - a place i've not been but it's on the bucket list! Glad to hear you've taken to the dark side and enjoying getting your sweat on It's good for the soul if not for anything else!
6km down, another 2km today. 18km more before i head home! xx
Enjoy Sunny Spain, and the Pool, well done for your achievement. Have a great holiday
Yes, I noticed it getting chilly before we left! Lovely and warm here (in fact, i'm suffering, for the first time in my life, a spot of heat rash!!!!) Getting back in the pool has been just wonderful. Sending you some sunny rays hun xx
Yes it really did...and i'm keeping it going. Normally when i'm here, i try and swim the equivalent of the English Channel (circa 21 miles) because my Dad did it in his 30's. Not sure i'll quite get there this trip but i'll get about 16-17 miles under my belt. I'm using it as a launch pad back into the gym when i get home, which i'm SO looking forward to. My general 'shape' has changed over the summer (to be expected) but already, i'm noticing some small changes which make me happy! xx
Sounds brilliant, your body has been through a lot and needs rebuilding what better way to do it, well done and it will give you confidence with your body. Glad you doing well xxxx
Urgh...I'm not runner that's for sure (although played lacrosse a lot in my youth!)...all praise to you my friend...whatever gets that heart pumping a bit faster and those endorphins flowing! xx
