Hey E!
It's weird I was only thinking about you today and wondering how you are! Sorry you are feeling so ill! I can't help you with your question I had Carbo alright but not at your doses! I am sure someone will be able to help though! Mind yourself and I hope you feel better soon!
Dx
Hi ya. Sorry you are going through this. Sometimes the good weather makes me feel bad as in "look at all this good weather and I am stuck in, not feeling well etc etc". It's good to take a deep breath and let it all go. I have been having lots of chemo problems lately so I appreciate everything your going through. Sending you big hugs xxxx
Trish
Well I expect you are on blood thinners now at the moment as well as chemo. They make you cold or I have heard people complain they make you cold. The Carbo is strong stuff and I hope you are getting the strongest anti nausea ask for EMEND because it does work. I suppose you have to pull up again after the treatmentand if it is a double dose of course it is more tiring!!!!
Yes we do not enjoy the nice weather if we are unable to get out and about. I am stable at the moment but I get days of not wanting to walk the dogs for some reason. I am working on it. I know I am getting older but probably not wiser. I think of my aunts who at my age also didnt want to venture out a lot and I tell myself to cop on a bit. Now I will meet friends for coffee travel to see my grandson etc. I did a course in Mindfulness with Arc House down here in Cork and definitely it helps sort the mind from racing with all the crazy ideas we tend to get with a Cancer diagnosis. I would suggest you speak to your gynae liason nurse and let her point you in the direction of a support group in Galway or closer to you. All these places are totally confidential and anything you say is not repeated by the listener. It is actually good to go to those places as they are usually an oasis of calm. I will be meeting up with other with OC on June 11th here in Cork as Ovacare are hosting a coffee morning. It is a good place to meet others in the same boat and pass hints at coping and also we have a laugh or two or three. Be gentle on yourself, perhaps tomorrow get out and walk for a few minutes, if you dont want to meet with neighbours ask a family member to drive you to somewhere you can relax, maybe a garden centre, a river or lake area.
Oh yes! I remember the severe fatigue and feeling so weak about 2 days after. The first day was ok cos of the steroids. All i can say is rest ! Have a little walk in your garden daily. I used to make it my goal to walk around our garage once a day. Somedays i didnt make it but i tried. Enjoy the sunshine! Sit and read a book. Enjoy the nature. I found it hard to sleep so often found my self outside in a comfy chair watching and kistening to the dawn chorus. Magical. Just be aware we are very sensetive to the sun. So nice big sun brolly.
I had large doses and was determined to tolorate them if it killed the oc. Good luck and just listen to uourself and be kind to yourself. Xx
EilyEire, How are you doing? I am hoping you are comfortable and getting ready for the holidays. I worry when we don't hear from people for a LONG time!
