Hi,

Has anyone had taxol and avast in and it hasn't worked well and did they go onto Caelyx and did it work. Getting slightly worried we can't find a therapy yet to stop it in its tracks for awhile.xxxx

Hi, I have not heard of either of the drugs or know what they are for. I have a suggestion however, which is ask the advice of your local chemist / pharmacist.

Are you on weekly or thee weekly chemo. I was originally put on three weekly taxol which did not work but was then switched to weekly taxol which worked much better.

I'm on weekly ca125 went down drastically during the middle of treatment but last 3 weeks has been going up by 8 and I do have extra aches and pains

I am about to start weekly taxol so hoping it will stop mine in its tracks. My CA125 is always low so is not informative. Would really be pleased if it decreases the aches and pains. Wishing you well with Caelyx xxxx

Good luck Taxol can give very good results. I have new and old pains and with a rise in ca125 I know it's awake . But I need to remain positive that we will find something to slow it down. Xx

Hi. I was previously on carboplatin and paclitaxel and it worked well for 5 months. Then I went on to Avastin tablets for a month because there was some slight activity in my left chest wall but this made my CA125 go right up so they switched my to Caelyx one per month. After the first month my CA125 still went up so I had my second one and if it continues to go up after this one, it apparently is not working and they will try another drug. Bit of a bugger but have to try everything to see what works and what gets rid of this horrible disease. Hope your Caelyx works. let me know. regards Maria xx

After my first month of Caelyx my CA125 went up to 3100. So next month if it still goes up they will decide on what to do next. I really hope it goes down. will keep in touch. Maria xx

Hi. I have just had my 4th monthly Caelyx. With this drug I have experienced bloating, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Been in hospital for 1 week for a blocked bowel on a saline drip with no food or water but Any way managing and my CA125 at last reading was 1800 so it is going down. Go back in two weeks for my second last treatment so we will see what happens then. Nearly finished my xmas shopping so I am happy.
