Uk holiday cancellation insurance

Anyone have any advice re insurance against cancellation of holiday in uk.

Lovely Sue ...I am sorry that I am not much help with this but if you need to cancel a booking I hope you will be compensated or what about finding someone to go instead and just have a name change (just a thought).

We enquired about travel insurance and were quoted for 1x week to Crete £700 to £800 so decided to go without it covered by EHIC card for medical and letter from doctor explaining treatment. having holiday between chemo. And taking antibiotics with me So to get cancellation ins. may cost lots once they know your condition

Thanks everyone. We have just booked a caravan pitch in the uk, had to pay £360 in full with no refund if we had to cancel primarily thinking of me. I have looked at all uk insurance and they state" no pay out for any pre existing illness or situation that may occur as a possible cause due to the illness". A bit of wriggle room on their part methinks.
