Still waiting for positive diagnosis and treatment after 6 months of unacceptable delays, 3 GPs fobbing me off and a gynaecologist with an indifferent attitude!!
How can these delays and attitudes exist when lives are at stake?also why is there is little awareness of this disease when there are national screenings for others???

Dear Jackie,
I took a double take then thinking you were angry about Easter.
Then I realised you are angry about the lack of answers to your medical concerns.
I am sorry that you are having so many problems in getting answers to this.
However there is no answer to your question about screening tests.. because there simply is no screening test for Ovarian cancer...(they haven't found one yet) It is a very complex disease that most of us have discovered at our cost and not enough is known to actually screen for it...
I can understand your frustration you could give the Ovacome helpline a ring tomorrow and ask their advice for the way forward tel 0845 371 0554
I hope you will get answers soon best wishes

I think Gwyn has said it in a nutshell but just to send my love to you. T xx
I can understand how frustrating this must be for you. Many of us have had reason to call the helpline mentioned above and it has been a huge source of support. I would really recommend you consider doing this.
In general terms writing a letter tends to be taken seriously by the recipient....it is stored in your notes and immediately becomes a part of your medical record..so it's less likely to be ignored than phone calls etc. Alsoo a supportive GP is worth her weight in gold , so perhaps try and find a better one .
Thankyou to all who have responded,it's good to know that I am not on my own. Finally have an MRI scan tomorrow,so am hopeful that next week My consultant may contact me with a result. It's just the waiting that is soo stressful, once I know then I can be positive about treatment etc
