Returned from my 3 month follow up. Ca125 showed rising levels again. Was first diagnosed in 2010. Had one round of chemo then and then again in early 2012. Was feeling so well now and am scared of prospect of more chemo. Disscussing clinical trials with consultant when I go back in 6 weeks. Love some support from others

Dear Scarletina
I understand how you feel once CA125 levels start rising again and you're looking at the prospect of more chemotherapy.
On the bright side it looks as though you have had a good remission this time and as I understand it from my oncologist this self-selects you for clinical trials. There are new ways of administering chemotherapy and new doses out so hopefully you'll get a prescription that suits you and gives you another good long remission.
It is enough to get you down though. I'm looking at re-starting chemotherapy in the coming weeks or months. We're keeping a close eye on things and I'm hoping to be referred so I can explore what trials are out there to see if something suits.
I'm sending loads of love and sympathy. It's good you've posted up. Please let us know how you get on as we'll be thinking of you.

That is really rotten, I am so sorry. It's one of its nastiest and sneakiest facets I think, the way people can feel so well despite a recurrence. You do obviously respond to chemo, though, or the remission wouldn't have been so long - you gave it a beating last time, and will do it again, I am sure

So sorry your news is not the best. Best wishes for an easy going treatment and another good remission. xx
That is disappointing. Your good general health is a very good basis for being on a clinical trial so I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you can find a suitable one to join. If there is none suitable it may not mean more chemo right away as they appreciate how much this impacts quality of life. The fact you are going back in 6 weeks is good news, i think. It means they are confident that this is not an emergency situation and you have time to explore the different options. Good Luck Vx
It's really is a b****r to feel really well and then find out things may not be going as we hoped, fingers crossed that you will get another long remission as you responded o well the last time. My ca125 doesn't alter so will have to have more scans than I would like to see if anything is going on.
Big hugs Amanda xx
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that your markers are up, I had the same a couple of weeks ago after only having finished chemo in March for second recurrence. I could not believe markers were up as i was feeling so well. As soon as i was told there was a possibility it may be back i felt all the symptoms came back. I had to have an urgent scan and was called last week to be told by my gynae nurse that the scan showed that the decease was stable. You can not imagine how relieved i was. I have only had a partial response to chemo last time and i know that there is still a nodule on my peritoneum but wanted to share this with you and let you know that I am praying that your markers have gone up for different reasons, sending lots of good vibes your way
