Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in July 2014, had debunking surgery which went very well and started chem carbo/taxol 6 weeks later. Was extremely sick hospitalised after nearly all the treatments but got through it.

March 2015 ct scan showed no sign of cancer,

In December 2016 had recurrence was treated with carboplatin alone and in may 2017 finished chemo and June 2017 in remission again. In July this year I went for my usual Brest check and was recalled to Cork for more tests, these reveal I have Breast Cancer I'm receiving biopsy results this coming Monday, but there seems no doubt in the surgeons mind that it is cancer. At last we get to my question has this happened to anyone else?

Putting my hand up.

My ovarian cancer treatment was 2013 and fortunately have remained clear but was diagnosed with breast cancer Feb 2016. Had chemo, double mastectomy. The bc was new primary. I am waiting for results of BRCA test.

Yesterday in clinic (on herceptin for ever) spoke to a woman who had breast cancer first then ovarian and was BRCA negative. As she said, just bloody bad luck.

There are not always explanations and it's really tough but hopefully you, like me, have a great team to look after you with the best available treatment.

So sorry you have this additional worry now. I would suggest you ask to go on the waiting list for Braca testing. It may open up new drugs for you like the Parps Inhibitors. I would suggest you bring this up on Monday next. As I am aware we do have a fab oncologist here in Cork who respects his patients enormously so I do hope you will be under him. I would also suggest you make an appointment at Cork Arc Cancer Support house with Fiona the breast care Nurse. For your information the have branches now in Bantry and Youghal. I hope this information helps you. Will be thinking of you Monday

I'm so sorry you have to go through more trauma. Sadly the risk for breast cancer in brca positive people is very high. And even higher among those with OC. As if we don't have enough to deal with.

Sending you all my love and strength to kick its ugly ass. ♥️♥️♥️

So sorry to hear this. Some people just seem to get it all. It's horrible for you. On the good side it is treatable and you'll come out of it even stronger than you are today. Be thinking of you and wish you all the best. xx
