Scaredy cat.

Well just to let you know how the scaredy cat got on today.   My nice oncologist was extremely positive to me.  He is sorting an mri, he suggested tendonitis but not sure really. He prescribed something stronger than panadol for pain.   Very bad timing to be honest for me but his reassurance that there is a plan if the mri shows up other than tendonitis .   I am hoping that the fact that he suggested mri instead of bringing forward ct scan is a good sign.  I am more relaxed about it now but I certainly wont be dancing the light fantastic at the wedding.   But that is a minor thing.  I am blessed to have such a good man as my onc

Glad to hear you are happy with how things are being taken care of. It's always better when there is a plan .Hope you can get Mri done soon, I have gone private to get these done quickly in the past and can claim half back in health insurance . Hope new painkillers do the trick , take care x

in reply to Susan3

Hi Susan3, yes he did make that suggestion so I hope for a fast appointment,  I did get private insurance through work but had to wait for a good few years to claim on it because it was existing when I joined,  So I should be covered for a scan once consultant requests it,  I have yet to try the tramadol, very mixed feelings about it.  Chemist said I need to be able to take it after a meal at home in case I get a reaction.  I will give a try in the morning as had to go out today,

Thank you Ann, I do feel better about it now, definitely some tendonitis but what the reason for it is another thing but my onc is the best and I know he will have a plan as he said if necessary.

Hi Suzuki

So happy for you that your appointment went well and that you are now relaxed enought to look forward to the wedding. Having a nice oncologist is half the battle. I am not sure when you have the MRI but I will light a candle for you that day that his theory of tendonitis is correct. As you say if it is something else he has a plan

Thanks Molly O, I hope you are doing okay at the moment.   I am waiting to hear about mri but told I shouldnt be waiting for too long.  Tendonitis is sore as have had it already in both shoulders,  but will settle for it instead of OC

Hi Suzuki

I am still in the horrors of dealing with medical officialdom and will let you know when I get some clear answers. I am quite upset today and still in my P.J s after crying my eyes out having had a frustrating conversation with a lovely nurse who was really just passing on information to me. Hope your MRI scan is what you hope for. Take care.

Ah that is awful, I dont blame you for getting upset.  I think if you try to engage with red tape, it can be frustrating.  Some have the personality to deal with people others dont consider how a patient may feel!!   My mri is tomorrow, so told wear nothing metallic,  I do feel a lot better to be honest, came off the painkillers.   My routine  CT scan has been deferred for a day in May because there is no Rasdiologist on duty the day it was scheduled.  Third world country carry on.   Do dress up and if it is fine get out for ten or 15 minutes,it will do you all the good in the world.  Sending you a big hug

Thanks Suzuki

I am now going in the shower and getting dressed . I will then decide if I am fit to go to Cork for Sat and ring my brother I am staying with. Then I will have some soup followed by chicken Kiev . After that  I will try to tidy my bedroom cum library cum office !

Good luck with your MRI . I will light a candle for you along the way. Take care

Hi Kittie, I got my tablets today but was going out so chemist told me to be at home when I start them because they are strong, Tramadol they are called but the lightest dose.   I hope to get new of mri in a few days. Thanks for your reply
