Increase in blood pressure while taking prolia

I was just wondering if anyone has noticed increase in blood pressure since taking prolia. I have recently had two readings done this week. Higher than my norm. Norm 110/72. Now 127/89 and 131/82. I wondered why then thought of prolia. I take no medication other than prolia. I really don't want to play the med game where you take something to help one thing then have to take another med bc it did something else. I've been a no med person until promised and all my stats were good except the dexascan.

Unfortunately high blood pressure is a known side effect of Prolia. It should be stated on the patient information leaflet.

I hear you! Unfortunately, My cholesterol is affected by Prolia ( which I am now on a statin)--Not my BP. I weigh the pros and cons and have resigned myself to the fact that every medicine has some down side and Ive made peace with that. I am reminded that Doctors "practice " medicine and rarely do they have all the answers.

Take care.😀

I’m still trying to get to that happy medium place.

I was told last night by a nurse every medication you put into your body adds another issue and another medication. I was med free until this Prolia .

well I now also received my results from GP. Now, the cholesterol is high, but she is not putting me on anything yet. LDL is 143,HDL 55 and total is 218. I typically run high, most likely genetics as I don't eat the fatty fast foods and cook at home, hardly any processed food. Both blood pressure and cholesterol increases can also be attributed to the Prolia injections.

UGGHHGHHG.

Hi, I've been on Prolia for 1 1/2 years. I have not had a problem with my pressure. I also take no other meds except prolia and have always had low blood pressure. But my mother always had what they called " white coat syndrome ". Her pressure always went up when she went for a doctor's visit due to nervousness. She was finally told to get a blood pressure cuff to take her pressure at home daily under relaxed circumstances. That helped define her normal pressure.

I am 73, have osteoporosis. My doctor recommended Prolia. I do not want to go on meds if possible. So a year ago, I started taking Strontium citrate (from AOR) - and my last bone density scan showed no further loss - that was after 4 months of Strontium. I will have another bone density scan in a few months (one year since the last one) and will see if the Strontium has improved my bone density. I also take v K, v D, fish oil, calcium, magnesium and eat a healthy diet (lots of veggies, few carbs, fish, nuts, legumes - no meat). My blood pressure is excellent - but I have high cholesterol (probably genetic) and GERD. I went to a naturpathic doctor - she recommended 'Gastro-Mend-HP' and licorice tea for the reflux issues - and it is really helping. And she recommended NFH Chol SAP-15 for cholesterol... which I've just started. I think exercise, diet and supplements can really go a long way to keeping off meds as we age.
