Hi. New from New Jersey. Diagnosed with OP in December. Gynecologist recommended OP meds, but I said no due to side effects. Went for 2nd opinion with Rheumatologist who did blood workup. Results all normal. He pushed OP meds also but I refused. I am 62, exercise daily and eat healthy, taking calcium and vitamin D. He did suggest Algae Cal and Stronium and repeat Dexa scan in a year. Looking for anyone's experience with this. Thanks.

AlgaeCal and Stronium Experience
Aloha , Warmer.
I was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis at 50 yo. I also refused medications due to the side effects but instead took AlgaeCal and Stronium Boost (for a yr and a half). I exercise almost daily and I teach Tai Chi and yoga. I’m due to have my 2nd Dexa scan this year so we’ll see how well AlgaeCal works. There has been NO SIDE EFFECTS. Testimonials (videos) of this product has been amazing (found on AlgaeCal website and Youtube).
the strontium citrate gives 10% exaggeration in increased bone density. So
If you improve 1.0 then .10 is exaggerated . It’s definitely a better option than medicines for many. I’ve never heard that you will be at risk of fracture if you go off of it but if that’s a risk one could stay on it . A low dose is 250 and medium dose is 500. Medical grade would be strontium renalate. Please do not confuse the two. Some people have studied this issue for months
a lot of people are taking it who have no better option. I take it 1-2 x per day. Do you think fosamax or actonel are better. If you would be opposed to this then you are also opposed to medicines ? What is the strontium dose that you are thinking is dangerous? I feel I have to take at least one per day.
What is your suggestion in general for osteoporosis- how are you managing it
I was diagnosed in Dec. 2022 as well, also new to the AlgaeCal and Stronium. Doctor recommenced meds, but researched AlgaeCal products with me, and was willing to give it a try. I am giving myself 18-24 mos. (Be careful with the Stronium, it can cause some colon irritation. Start slow, 1-tab at night, and then build up to the recommended 2). I have also added vit. K, and whole body vibration platform to my workouts. I researched the WBV, and you need the vertical movement, at a medium speed/level. I have friends who have gone this route, and have beat the osteoporosis. I am hoping for the same results. Like you, I have exercised daily since my 20's, I eat well, and live healthy. I was totally shocked! My doctor advised that I stop, "beating myself up". His words were, "You were destined to develop this with a mother and grandmother who had it. It's in the genes!" One final thought…I have also read it is best to keep your body at an alkaline (pH balanced) level, much like most vegetarians maintain. I am not a vegetarian, so…I am testing my urine and trying to keep my body at the correct pH. I am NOT in the medical field…just have done a lot of reading! Hope some of this helps!
Thank you everyone for your feedback. It helps when deciding what to do and what to take. The more we know, the more better choices we can make. I called AlgaeCal and spoke to a bone consultant regarding my current prescription meds and supplements and how and when to take AlgaeCal and Stronium. He seemed knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Haven't had a chance to order yet since this is all time consuming but soon. It seems like you have to time taking this with prescription meds and supplements. But if this helps, it will be worth it. Let's keep in touch to encourage each other. Thanks again.
my Endocrinologist said they don’t like people taking both medicine and strontium citrate because then they don’t know which one worked. So my thought was ok so I will try the non medicine one first , she didn’t believe osteostrong would work and made a face about . I wanted to like osteo strong but I just heard this yesterday about some fracturing there . I just go to the closest planet fitness 1-2 x per day and I am hoping that at least keeps me from getting worse.
