LPR and throat discomfort

I had an appointment at the ENT clinic at the end of October. They used a camera scope up my nose and into my throat. The consultant discharged me.

The letter I received following the consultation said nose examination was unremarkable, endoscopic examination was unremarkable except for signs of reflux.

Since having this appointment and test I have a feeling of something stuck at the back of my tongue and my nose seems to feel like I am starting with a cold.

Is this feeling normal?

Do I need to be worried?

Should I not have been discharged?

I'm very anxious

I've had LPR for many years. It's an annoying condition. I would think that if your ENT specialist has found no major issues at the time they tested you, that would be reassuring. You could consider- has something happened since the examination and are you being treated with any relevant prescriptions that help the condition.

Thank you. I have no idea if the increase in omeprazole plus the gaviscon 4 times a day is causing these symptoms and it is so difficult to get to speak with a GP or be seen. I just keep thinking this is the start of a downward spiral fir me and I feel so scared and panicky most of the time. I have no one to talk to or ask advice from and I've no idea what to do.

LPR is quite common. There are times in life when things may feel scary but later looking back you see things in context. You must go back and tell your GP you are also very anxious and seek help.

I have symptoms like a cold (sore throat, runny nose). Not unusual with acid reflux due to body creating excess mucus to try to protect the esophagus. But you must talk to GP if you have feeling of lump in throat. I had fast track gastroscopy due to the same feeling which turned out to be due to hiatus hernia. My best wishes to you.

I’m suffering the following symptoms, burning in my mouth, especially tip of tongue, bitter taste in mouth which I assume is acid, I can taste it right at th back of my mouth, throat where that little wobbly bit is. Drippy nose and sore throat on and off. I take Gaviscon like it’s going out of style. My Doctor is useless., has referred me to a specialist to stick a camera down my throat but I have declined, as I don’t believe that will change anything. If they knew how to fix it they would have by now. Basically they don’t give a rats, we are just a revenue stream.
