Had reflux for around 5 years now, had all the tests 4 years ago, endoscopy etc......been living it with & it's issues since whilst taking Omeprazole daily.Since around Sept though symptoms have generally got worse, past two weeks I'm waking up basically every night and my pillow is drenched in sweat, it's only my head that's sweating and not my full body, this use to happen maybe once a month now it's every night!!! Also horrendous acid taste in my throat.
Has anyone else had bad night sweats with acid reflux????
I attended docs few weeks ago & he has referred me for another endoscopy, but not urgent so could be waiting months & months for that!
Im in two minds to go back as I'm on 40mg Omeprazole & gaviscon before bed & it seems to now be having zero effect and if anything my flare up is getting worse by the day, this then leads to stress & generally feeling a bit rubbish!
Tried everything over the years as well, ordered some wheatgrass powder yesterday to try that as never tried that before to see if that helps

Hi, sorry to hear about your symptoms. You could ask your GP for Famotidine as an alternative to Omeprazole (and they don't cause acid rebound when you stop them). Have you tried sleeping propped up or raising the head of the bed. Night reflux is worse for me also. I often wake with a hot, flushed face which may be due to the Sodium in the Gaviscon I have to take every night, also my blood pressure is raised in the mornings. Best Wishes.
Think I'm going to have to go to docs but 9/10 times they don't seem that interested in reflux issues but that fact I'm on 40mg Omeprazole & gaviscon and at moment and my night symptoms are pretty bad currently they've got no choice but to listen to my concerns.my head is raised pretty high and seems to be ok if sleep on left but within 30 seconds of laying on right I can feel the sweat forming all over my head is very bizarre, I've always had night sweats with my reflux, but like couple of times a month, currently it's every night and my pillow is soaked
