I am due to for a gastroscopy with BRAVO capsules test later this month.

Has anyone undergone this test? Whilst the capsule is attached to the esophagus did it pain particularly when eating? How long was it before the capsule detached itself and pass out through bowel movement?

Did the results help with overall acid assessment?

Appreciate if anyone can share their experiences

Thanks

Yes it gave lots of useful information. Cant say i particularly noticed it when eating. I have cardiac arrhythmias and i had a bout the day after the capsule was put in. It settled though. I had some discomfort when the capsule dislodged but nothing I couldn't manage with particularly as I knew what was happening. Go for it its worth it. Good luck.

Thank you. Would you remember how long was it before the capsule dislodged?

Did you experience any chest pain when it was attached ?

I experienced a little chest pain or more like an awareness the following day but given I have cardiac arrhythmia its little wonder it set mine off. The heart and oesophagus are so very close together it wasnt a surprise.

Once it settled down again it was fine. If you dont have heart problems you should be absolutely fine. I seem to recall the capsule was in place for about four days. I vividly remember it falling off as I had a few most unusual sharp feelings in my chest then stomach which was clearly it dislodging. I was in a supermarket at the time and winced at the unusual feeling. Its nothing bad so dont be put off. No sight of the device or when I passed it naturally. Well worth it for the information it gives the medic. Best wishes.
