Hi, I suffer with GERD and have a small hiatus hernia. Oesophageal spasms, chest pain, back pain, acid in mouth, bloating, nausea etc etc. Currently just reduced from 2x esomeprazole 20mg to 1 daily, famotidine 40mg at night, gaviscon extra after meals and before bed. Symptoms persist as they do despite all the usual coping strategies sleeping on left, raised bed head, not eating for 4-5hrs prior to bed, small meals, trigger avoidance etc etc. I’ve been reading about Slippery Elm and wondered if anyone has tried it and what the results have been? Also the dosage, frequency and method of consumption?
Thanks

Thanks again, I’ve ordered NOW Foods Slippery Elm 400mg and Natures Way Marshmallow Root 480mg the feedback was good on these brands so I’ll see how I go 🤞🤞🤞
For me I can’t say there has been any change at all really. I took 2 tablets 2 X daily of both as they’re quite big and I struggle to get big pills down. Having said they don’t seem to make any difference for me, a lot of people feel they do and you could be one of those people . So may be worth a try for you, good luck 🤞
Hi I have tried everything nothing works have you got a sore throat. I am seeing a professor today. Ihave had all the test down the throat scans , blood tests. They cannot find anything meanwhile I have a sore throat 24 hours day for 3 months I will let you know how I got on
Yes I get a sore throat when the acid is really bad but thankfully don’t suffer with that all the time but other symptoms are fairly constant. My GP recommended a product called Larri an oral spray, this helps me a little with the throat might be worth a try. It’s an OTC product here in Australia.
