Basically I had my endescope yesterday and he said I had a .5cm dilation above the stomach and a stricture benign in appearance although biopsies had been taken, he opened up the stricture with the balloon and after it he said and thought the biopsies won't and he would be suprised if it came back with anything.
He also said I had a 1cm sliding hernia
On the dilation does he mean it had shrunk by
5cm or it was 5cm. I've never had an issue passing food so I think it's the latter
He told me to come back in 8 weeks to open up again.
My appointment is 4 weeks away to discuss results of this and to have a cat scan to check
Obviously a bit worried now, because I didn't know what he meant and now I do or should I just trust his experiance
Recently developed the throat thing 8 weeks ago and have all the chest and back issues
Also I paid to go private to have this done as the nhs dr kept fobbing me off, which is a shame,
Question if you went private would you have the surgery or the linx fitted or have any you tried this , sorry lots of questions
Hi I had a hiatus hernia operation for sliding hernia a little bigger tear in my diagram than yours and also have Barrett disease pre cancerous cells, due to reflux.

Was told to have the Barrett’s disease 🦠 checked every two years
Hi I have a 10cm hiatus hernia over the years and 3 operations I still have 10 cm hiatus hernia I don't plan on more ops although been offered but if it could not be fixed when this started I don't think at 10cm there is much chance now 78 years young IManage with my meds take gavason at night and raised my bed up which helps.if the hiatus gets big the worry is it could end up in the stomach. That's a major problem if the hernia is offered an operation I personally would take it. But wouldn't have any more ops if not successful Oh just a wee thought someone said they get reflux when hadn't eaten That's the worst thing you need food in your stomach to help with the accid Take your meds with a little food not on an empty stomach. Sandy
Hi, I saw a private consultant for acid reflux and 2cm sliding hiatus hernia. He suggested I could have a Bravo capsule, which they attach to your gullet for 48 hours and it records the amount of acid reflux. From there, depending on results, possible Lynx or Nissen Fundoplication op. You could enquire about the Bravo test before you decide. Best wishes.
