I have GERD I believe due to the removal of my Gall Bladder and after having a small cut to my Sphincter to allow gall stones to pass after I once had one stuck in my bile duct. My question is, I have been prescribed Lanzoprazole to take before a meal. I'm confused as when this will be because if I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner then when should I take it. I wake with reflux and there are no triggers, it just happens

HiI take 15mg before breakfast and 30mg before my evening meal. I also take Gaviscon when needed. Each work in different ways. I found it took a few weeks before having an effect. I started on one tablet a day.

My main issue is coughing and it began to affect my sleep.

I don’t know why my reflux got so much worse this year.

Obviously speak to your GP if no improvement.

Thank you. I'm prescribed 15mg once a day before a meal but I will go back to my GP to find out if there is more that can be done. I have put on a bit of weight so plan to shift it in the new year and hope that helps. Yes, the coughing gets me too especially when I feel a whooshing come up my throat and also have to force cough mucus at times
